"Coming off Laurel Falls Trailhead, easy walk or maybe could get a ride, lots of locals know that the hikers needs to go to Brown’s General Store to check in for Braemar Castle. Which is across the road. Laundry done for 5 books. Their are some private rooms, and then Hostel rooms. Shower. Bathroom is great and picking up supplies at Brown’s General Store is easy peasy. There are a couple of Restaurants on down the rode. And a General or Dollar store."

"Ben Brown provided a shuttle service for a three-day hike on the AT. We are three old retired guys. He was so courteous, punctual, and helpful. We parked at the family store and Ben drove us to a road crossing and dropped us off on the trial. The ride up was like having our own tour guide telling us so many great stories and interesting information about the local area. Although this was not included in the quote, he said if we had any problems to give him a call. Sure enough, I had a back issue and had to come off the trail early. He arranged for a rendezvous and picked us and took us back to our car. He made the whole experience a real pleasure. If you need a shuttle service Ben is the best we have ever used."

"Great place. Very nice staff and willing to assist in info and rides. Laundry was only 5 and they took care of it for me. Gave us a ride into town for the restaurant and resupply is close. Shower is nice, good water pressure and hot water!"

"Loved the history of this historic building. Alex the caretaker was awesome from the moment I called him from the trailhead. Private room, clean sheets and bathroom. Nice area to lounge and meet other hikers. Well equipped kitchen and free coffee. Good WiFi. Didn’t want to get back on the AT. Highly recommend. ZenICan"
