Babel Tower Trail

"After very rewarding downhill trail with a little bit of everything. Rewarding views, tough terrain, steep slopes and relaxing flat ways. Even a bit of climbing over rocks along the way. Be warned: the return trip back uphill will have you questioning the journey. We hiked this trail on an icy day with strong, cold wind and the day after hiking a much colder and windier trail. All in all, an excellent hike we thoroughly enjoyed."

"Absolutely beautiful trail, and even better views! The walk to the tower isn't hard whatsoever, but coming back is the fun part! Theirs a few VERY dangerous spots, so keep smaller children & animal's close! Bring snacks & a few bottles of water!"

"One of the best hiking trails in NC. 3.2 mile round-trip trail from the summit to the river. Beautiful scenery. Shaded trail most the way. Bring a snack and enjoy the waterfalls at the bottom of three gorge. A must visit!"

"The trail is easy to follow and only becomes a little confusing once you reach the base of Babel Tower. It's steep but fairly easy to see the trail and the way(s) to the top. Definitely worth it. The trail is strenuous but since it is short it isn't too bad overall. I continued down the the river from the tower and that part of the hike was no problem. Just take your time."
