Reviews of Midway Town Park
"Wonderful Park. My husband and I love to walk here. The park is kept immaculate. The grounds and facilities are beautiful. Staff are friendly. Great playground with covered picnic tables available. Large covered pavillion and gazebo are first rate! Modern restrooms, very clean. Security cameras in place provide for a feeling of safety. Highly recommend!!"
"This park is beautiful but not exactly disability friendly and felt very uncomfortable and unsure where I was allowed to go that I physically could go to with my limitations and without being yelled at by the staff or guests so this picture encompasses my view of my niece who I invited my mom to bring to this park so I could see her play and play with her. There was also a bit of drama that was like watching a soap opera mixed with Parks & Recreation who knew Park Drama was a thing, lol. I am not including that drama between staff and guests in my star ratings. Speaking more on Disabilities and accessibility in this park. First, Parking - the only spots I saw were near the playground entrance but if you're disabled with animals all well. Second, No animals allowed in the playground area and the area I saw where animals are allowed is not paved and there is zero shelter from the sun so not disability friendly. As someone with multiple disabilities one that causes severe heat intolerance and physical limitations on this unseasonably hot fall day it was unbearable to try and walk any length of that trail when there was no shade I could see. Now my animals are service animals so I could have went over to the playground area but if the staff is yelling at kids to stay off the landscape and a group of men to stay out of the picnic area, with my anxiety, that would have been more stressful than I could handle with everything else. Not to mention there was only 1 place I saw in the playground area to sit where everyone was gathering and I don't want to make anyone else uncomfortable if they're not okay with dogs. So I stayed in the shade on a bench in between the playground and trails (the dog friendly area) where the bathrooms were. Next those trails seemed massive, the landscape was beautiful, everything is well maintained, there are dog waste stations, there are a lot of sections which I was unable to explore and looks like there is much more in the works hopefully a dog park and some shade trees or more canopies preferably covering benches to provide those who have to sit a safe shaded place to do so with dogs whether they are service or not. This definitely can be a 5* park if they plan to work on some of those things. For right now it is more like a 3.5* (I rounded up to 4 because they're on the right track) in my opinion for the things I mentioned above that made my experience negative and quite isolating. I will return on a better cooler day to try and explore the park more then I will update this review."
"This park is always clean and I love the tiny gravel they use here! Very pleasant to walk on. The walking trails are long and have different paths to take. Plenty of benches to sit and relax on. Very nice landscaping here. Pretty large playground for kids too! They have a sick gazebo, and a covered area near the front as well."
"New park, and a little bit of it is still under construction not a lot of attractions for the kids but still a nice park. Tot Land has a soft cork floor. Sorry about the audio in the video. She's a little crazy. Lol"
"Midway finally has a park! Long overdue. There isn't any other park like this in the northern part of the county. So far the playground and walking trails have been built and it is a delight on cool temperature days. The park is essentially built on one large field and there isn't any shade so bring sunscreen on hot summer days if you're going to stay a while. They chose sand-like fine gravel for the walking trail which feels nice under your shoes but you do track a bit of gravel out of the park with you. There are a few spots where they need to do some erosion control as some of the gravel has already been eroding down the hill. It's not a problem yet but could be in the future. Bicycles not currently allowed. Dogs are allowed and dog waste stations scattered throughout. Lots of LED lampposts, some nice metal park benches, and a security cameras throughout. Nice concrete parking lot behind Town Hall. Signs currently say the park closes daily at 7pm. You can tell by the posted master plan and piles of mulch that more is coming to this park. It's a great start to a new park and I look forward to it's progress! Kids really seem to enjoy the playground area. It's so great that Midway residents finally have a place to exercise and be active!"
