Reviews of George's Luncheonette
"Scared money don’t make money"
"I came here for a chopped cheese. The food is good but a little bit overpriced. When I first ordered a chopped cheese on a roll it was $8.50. When I ordered a chopped cheese on a hero it was $11.00. There is a lot of other places that offer similar foods for a more affordable rate. Main take away is the food is good but a little expensive. 8/10"
"I can't believe it.. my wife went in to go get us two bacon and egg sandwiches ..a can of Coke and a coffee that was $11 to my surprise I was horrified to see what the sandwich looked like..there was no real egg or bacon on it......"
"Great food at reasonable prices. The staff is warm and friendly. It is definitely my go to place."
"Place changed ownership several months ago. Prices have recently been raised, too much, too fast and without prior warning, a few weeks ago. Place has been a neighborhood staple for many years and thus gets a lot of regulars. Unfortunately the clientele is old white males many of whom are retired and hang out there. The short order cooks are also of the same demographic. The only reason I even mention those things is because the place doesn't feel very welcoming to people of color. In fact, the cooks are usually full of attitude and often rude. Worse yet is that they will sometimes will mess up your order. This almost always occurs because they are busy carrying on a conversation with one of the other boomers that hang out there. The only bright spot is the cashiers are younger, friendly, people of color, because the new owner is also. And the business is now family owned as the different cashiers are all relatives of the owner. The owner kept the old cooks presumably to try and keep the same business. But the cooks were always the worst part of this place. It's the good food, good prices and location that made this place."
