Reviews of {pretty to think so}
"Delightful ambiance. And as someone with Celiac, it was wonderful to find that everything on the menu was naturally gluten free. We started with the bone marrow and beef tar tar with potato crisps, which was delicious. It was listed as an entree, but it seemed more appropriate as an appetizer. We then had the short ribs and lobster pot pie. Every single bite of the short ribs and accompanying potatoes was perfect. I highly recommend this dish. I wish I loved the lobster pot pie more. I was excited because it's rare that you can find a gluten free pot pie crust....and the crust was great. But the filling was underwhelming. It consisted mostly of onions and mushrooms with some lobster scattered in. I think a beef or chicken based filling would have done it much more justice. We also had some of the cocktails. The Public Enemy, an absinthe based drink was creative and tasty."
"Great place, delicious food and drinks!!! Definitely recommend making reservations. This place looked very booked and full. We made reservations for our large group. Inside restaurant is a bit tight and very cozy. Also very dark. It's was hard to see my food and read the menu."
"We got to have dinner here tonight and enjoyed the delicious food. We experienced great flavors and an inventive menu. The cheese plate was terrific and almost everything was gluten free including the caviar frites."
"We heard about {pretty to think so} while in town visiting family, and made sure to stop in and see what all the excitement is about. Let me tell you, the hype is certainly justified. Everything about this place, from the atmosphere to the drinks, the food, and the staff, is first-rate. The space is small but inviting, with decor that strikes a delicate balance between seemingly opposing aesthetics--it's classic Parisien café meets chic, sexy private club. That juxtaposition sounds funky and disjointed, but it somehow just works. Their creativity extends to the cocktail menu, where more seemingly odd combinations come together to create some truly unique and surprisingly delicious libations. We sat at the bar, with a front row seat to watch the bartenders work their magic, and it felt like a performance we should have been charged admission for. There was smoke, and fire, and what looked like a mad scientist's chemistry set, and the end results were some of the best concoctions I've ever tasted. I especially enjoyed the Fire Ceremony, which had a spicy kick to it. The food was also spectacular. My wife sampled a few different oysters from the raw bar, which she said were all fresh and delicious. We tried the bar nuts and the popcorn as well, which seem like pretty humble and ubiquitous menu items, but they managed to creatively elevate even those--the bar nuts were seasoned with rosemary and bay leaf, while the popcorn had nori and bonito flakes mixed in that gave it a surprising but pleasant ocean-y taste. We followed that up with entrees of crispy duck confit, red wine braised lamb shank, and nettle risotto, all of which were exquisite. The duck confit, in particular, was one of the best things I have ever eaten--I would eat that every night if I could. The lamb shank was a large portion and perfectly cooked, and the risotto was comfortingly creamy with a subtle flavor. Throughout the entire meal, the bartender and the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making for a truly wonderful evening. If we lived in the area, we would be back weekly, but we will have to settle for adding {pretty to think so} to (the top of) our list of must-visit spots whenever we're in town. This restaurant, and the trio behind it, seem to be building quite a reputation for themselves, and deservedly so."
"How do you describe in accurate detail a venue whose food & drinks are amongst the best in the Hudson Valley? Simple... you leave an honest review and encourage your friends to go. Between the decor whose whimsical aesthetic sets the tone for the evening to the lighting, music choices, glassware, cocktails, dishes & staff/guest interactions. The experience is genuine and can not be faked. As someone who has been an industry professional to someone who owns his own space locally, it's refreshing to see such a high level of care and dedication. Our experience only echos that of others before us and likely after. Go in knowing you'll have a great time."
