"A very unpleasant experience. We arrived at the cafe at 2:40pm and we waited a couple of minutes for someone to come and seat us. A young lady greeted us and said, “I’m sorry, we’re closing.” So, I asked her if it were possible to get a cup of coffee since it was too late to order off the menu, and she responded, and I quote “sure, but I prefer you get it to go.” So, I thought, that would be fine since they would be closing in 15 minutes or so. However, while we were waiting for the coffee, a party of three were seated and were handed menus. Shortly, after that, a party of two arrived, were seated, and also handed menus. Did she not want to serve us because of the way we were dressed? Let’s face it, we were walking outside around the arboretum, so I wasn’t wearing heels and a dress. Mind you, there weren’t any signs about a dress code. Or, did she simply not want to be bothered so late in the afternoon? Either way, customers should not be treated or dismissed in this manner. Sincerely, Dr. D. Diamond"
"It’s located inside the Manor house in the Bayard Cutting Arboretum. We ordered tuna sandwich, Turkey wrap, baked salmon, hot dogs and peanut butter and jelly sandwich. For the dessert we ordered a chocolate cake piece and scones. Turkey wrap was bit salty, cake and scones were not freshly baked and too dry. Tuna sandwich and baked salmon was really good. Portion size was big and price was reasonable. Friendly staff with a great service. You can sit inside or outside. In outside you can have a great view of the lawn and the river. In menu you have 15 different types of tea to select. Need to make a reservation in advance for the Victorian tea. (Completely forgot to capture our food photos other than desserts. because after a long walk we were so hungry)."
"A lovely spot for lunch, brunch, or tea at the Bayard Cutting arboretum. There is seating inside and out (I sat outside with a beautiful view of the lawn and the river). The curry chicken salad sandwich was very good, the service was terrific, and the view could not be beat"
"A very cool place that used to be a family mansion. Make sure you call ahead at least a day before to reserve the more decorated tea room. Otherwise you can’t get in or get their high tea. Food is great but I wish they had more tea options for a tea house."
"Food was good. Service was great. Friendly staff. Dessert was very good with plenty of options to choose from. It does get very crowded & loud so don't expect a reserved & peaceful dining ambiance. It's beautiful all the same with gorgeous views of the estate property. We had a lovely day!"
