Reviews of India Gate Restaurant
"Everything was great. I ordered take out and the PORTIONS were BIG, like double the size of other spots in the area. Food was bomb. They even read my request and added extra veggies to my dish - so few places do that with DOORDASH orders. They included complimentary sides with lots of rice. So happy this place is still around. Thanks for a wonderful meal!!"
"I would change this review to much higher if only the food here was consistent. On a good night, India Gate has my absolute all time favorite Vindaloo, but more often then not it, the Vindaloo is very bland and it would seem a completely different color. (It's best when it's a vibrant, almost neon red hue) I don't know if this is a result of them switching chefs, or them not having the recipe down to a science but it is super disappointing when I order from time to time. I'd order a lot more if I knew what I was getting."
"The food was pretty good and the interior is also well kept. Only issue I felt was the service here, my girlfriend asked the waiter nicely if he can wash the cutlery once and bring it back as it looked a bit dirty to us, he denied saying this is how it looks and said if you want I can bring a glass of water for us to wash it. The whole point of going out to eat will be ruined with such behavior."
"The atmosphere is so beautiful, dim lighting, lovely color changing lights, framed velvet tapestries with glittering strands through them, bright colored walls with hand painted designs, blacklight lit art that glows with beautiful colors, the tables are spaced for adequate privacy, and they also have high backed comfortable booths which are extremely private. Theres always indian music playing which is really nice too. The Tv was showing different scenes from india. I wish I had taken more photos of the food but its so good that when my meal came i was so anxious to dig in that i forgot. we havent had anything bad here. although i suspect the sambusa may be frozen and not fresh, and I didn't like the paratha. (nellai banana leaf restaurant has Amazing paratha!) the chicken tikka appetizer was great. my friend said the lamb and vegetables was one of the best meals he's ever had. the chicken shahi korma, chicken muglai, and malai are all DELICIOUS!! All three are the best I have ever had from any Indian restaurant I've ever tried. i let my friend try some and he was in love with them also. you literally have to refrain from licking the bowls clean, thats how delicious they are. the kitchen took direction well, when i asked for my naan to be lightly baked, they did so, which i appreciated. the owner is super friendly and kind, I love this restaurant and we will always go back"
"While working in Buffalo for the weekend my boyfriend and I stopped here for a bite to eat. We both got the butter chicken with a side of extra nan bread, it was very delicious! The chicken was soft and the butter sauce was super creamy. The nan was even softer and had a nice butter glaze to make it even more delicious. The portions are so large that we took almost half of our meal with us! A great price for the portion size. The only downsides aren't about their amazing food, the service was a tad slow and the bathroom was not clean. Next time we are in Buffalo we will defiantly stop back in, we recommend you do the same!"
