Reviews of Nile River Restaurant
"The chicken tawook had a nice char on it, it was slightly dry, the bread that came with it was mediocre. Was not particularly fresh or soft. Neither one of us cared for the sambusa. The kuku paka was ok, I don't think it was cooked fresh I think it was reheated. The chicken was not particularly tender, it was kind of tough and dry. We also tried some type of phyllo dough dessert which was also not good. It was served cold, and I don't believe it was homemade, it tasted like store-bought phyllo dough, the whole thing was just bland. Neither one of us would eat here again."
"Obsessed the Kuku paka chicken curry is so creamy and rich and they clean the meat and season it very well the beef halal is very good too best black food in Buffalo for home cooked comfort food fresh juicy and flavorful and healthy love this place"
"The food was absolutely amazing! The restaurant is located in the Downtown Baazar. They have a bunch of different restaurants in the building. We ordered the basta, addas, and kuku paka. Everything was fresh and delicious. The addas is a lentil soup that was perfectly seasoned. The kuku paka was phenomenal. We got to choose the spice level for this coconut curried dish and got medium spice. It was the perfect amount where it was spicy enough to be tingly, but you wont need to reach for water every second. I will say this is spicier than your typical “medium”, but I love spice. The more the better! The portions were more than generous. My partner and I finished half and had more for later. Everything was great, but the basta was the cherry on top to finish the meal. It’s a sweet flaky puff pastry where the taste is reminiscent of a cheese danish. Overall 20/10⭐️ we’ll be returning especially with the colder weather coming up. This might be my new comfort food. Thank you!"
