Reviews of The Bistro – Eat. Drink. Connect.
"Great breakfast food! And so convenient that it is right in the hotel."
"Could never get food there, they were always closed. Very disappointed in it closing before 6 every night. We could only get coffee in the morning. Went out for breakfast. Didn't want my food microwave"
"We brought in a big group and they were super great about it."
"I ordered the breakfast bowl which was good. Halfway through the meal I decided to get a croissant and latte and it took ages to come. I asked for a to go box with a fork and received one with four knifes instead. In conclusion the food is good but not the kind of service one would expect for a small not busy hotel. They're closed during lunch hours which was also inconsistent if one is staying at the hotel."
"Very limited menu and non-existent service for food that is on the pricey side. After a long day at the Falls with my girlfriend and kids, we checked in to our room and then headed to the "restaurant". We sat at a table and after about 10 minutes of not being greeted by a server, I got up and started looking for one. We were the only people sitting at a table. An employee kept walking in and out of two rooms and never even glanced at me, this went on for about 5 minutes. She, her name turned out to be Najaha, finally came out and I asked if they had a kids menu, because the regular menus on the table read 'kids menus available', and she said they did. I then asked if she would be coming to our table to take our order, she said we have to order from the bar/counter and she'll bring the food to us. I said ok, can I have the kids menu, she said give me a minute. I told her my family has been sitting at the table for 15 minutes, and asked how much longer do we have to wait for a kids menu? She stopped what she was doing, which seemed like nothing, to give me the kids menu and then she asked where we've been sitting, again, we were the only people at a table, she was totally oblivious. This is why I called this place a "restaurant", I've never been to a real restaurant where something like this happened. The menu has 'please ask your server for our spirit selections', which makes it seem like there is an actual server that will come to your table, like a real restaurant. After about 10 minutes of my family looking for other places to eat in the area, the "server" came to our table and asked we were going to order, even though she told me she wouldn't come to our table to take our order. I decided to not order anything because I needed the food be prepared a certain way and I couldn't trust the "server" to get my order right. My girlfriend and kids were hungry so they ordered food to go. My daughter wanted a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which was on the the kids menu, the "server", Najaha, didn't know what that was, my girlfriend had to explain it was to pieces of bread with peanut butter and jelly in the middle. I don't know if it was this particular "server" that was terrible at her job or if the "restaurant" actually doesn't have servers go around to tables to take orders, but we're still in the hotel and we're not going to attempt to have breakfast after what happened last night. I'm sure the "servers" here expect a tip, after all, the menu refers to them as servers, and my girlfriend and I tip very well when it's deserved (I was server when I was younger), but I would never give this type of service, ordering from a counter, more than a dollar or two, if that."
