""Exceptional Service, Scrumptious Food, and Lovely View" I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant with outstanding service provided by an exceptional waitress. The overall experience was delightful, and the food was pretty good. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the chicken sandwich and garlic rolls. Both were very good, with flavors that left a lasting impression. The service provided by the waitress was impeccable, adding to the enjoyment of the dining experience. Additionally, the restaurant offered a nice view, adding to the pleasant ambiance. The combination of exceptional service, scrumptious food, and a lovely view makes this restaurant a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful dining experience."
"We live on Leroy Island, less than a mile from Skipper’s and are very familiar with this place. Over the years I’ve had varying opinions of the food and service. The atmosphere has always been resort rather than fine dining. Since new ownership we have found the food presently up scale and very well presented. Service has been excellent and in all each seating has been enjoyed. As for price point, we find the prices in line with current prepared food costs. In all its great to have Skipper’s, its new owners and some very good fare on the Eastern shore of Sodus Bay!"
"My family has been going to Skippers Landing for YEARS. When we heard they were selling it to someone else, we were really sad about it, as this was our go-to local restaurant. Well this evening, my sister and I decided to go and give the new owners a try. Upon entering, it still looks like the same restaurant it always was, aside from a few missing decorations and photographs, and some other changes here and there. However…the very first thing I noticed was the state of the fish tank in the bar room. The fish are quite obviously dying of a bacterial disease, due to inadequate care and obviously high ammonia levels. (I have three aquariums in my home) it looks like their water hasn’t been cleaned or tended to in months. (They require 25% water changes every other week at least). The fishes have lost their color and their eyes are turning white, and they’re floating at the surface, swimming very slowly. This new ownership got rid of the drink special menus, no longer serve rolls, we were not given the regular water pitchers and glasses, but the table who came after us did. The bar staff did not know how to make a collins, asked me how to make it. We received our drinks, appetizer and soup/salads in good time, however, we waited over 45 minutes to receive our entrees. The waitress during that time did not check on us. I understand she was busy with other customers, but we were blatantly ignored once a table of “people we(the staff) know” came in. They even received their entrees before us. Before we got our food, we decided at that point we needed boxes for our food, so we had to stop the waitress as she was tending to her friends, and ask for the box and check. I will note that she was absolutely busy, but not until her friends came in. The moment our waitress leaves to get those things, our food came out. My sisters chicken had become soggy from sitting under a heat lamp, soaking in a bowl of lemon and white wine sauce and noodles. She reported to me that there wasn’t a lot of flavor to it, and I felt the same about my dish as well. The chicken in my pasta was cooked beautifully though, and it tasted very good, and was tender. We packed up our things, left a 20% tip, and went on our way, pretty disappointed. I’m sad that I will never have a skippers landing cranberry or blueberry collins ever again. I’m sad I will never have skippers landing amazing home-made ranch ever again, or their awesome salad bar and yummy warm rolls. Just sucks, it was our family gathering spot. Rest in peace skippers landing."
"We were visiting Chimney Bluffs state park and on our way back looked this place up. Restaurant offers some really amazing views. The staff was super friendly. Seems like a family owned business. We were in a hurry so staff accommodated us and served food really very quickly. The fish and chips were really good and fresh and the fries were really nice along with the tartar sauce. Good quality food. Ambiance: offer great natural lake views. Sitting area was good too. Parking Easily available beside restaurant."
"Really nice RESTAURANT. Not a pub. Tremendous service. Staff are very very friendly and professional. Food was wonderful. My prime rib was the best I have had in a very long time. Scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My soup was great as well. Wish the salad bar had been open but they really do everything to keep COVID-19 in check. All staff wearing masks and everything sanitized. The first place in the area to have hand sanitizer at the door."
