"I left work early so that I could make it to a 4:45 yoga class. Gigi was the instructor. I have never been to one of Gigi’s classes so had no clue that being 3 minutes late would result in the door being locked and not being allowed entry into the class after knocking. My ETA was 4:40 but due to an accident on 85, I arrived at 4:47 and made it upstairs to the class at 4:48. This is metro Atlanta, so things happen with traffic even when you make all the efforts to be early or on time, as I had done. Every studio that I’ve been to gives a grace period, and there are yoga and other classes at Lifetime where late entry is allowed. I spoke to someone at the front desk and was told that it’s up to the instructor to allow a grace period or not. To me, that is unacceptable. There needs to be a company policy that is consistent. I was once late to a hot yoga class at Lifetime and was allowed entry with no problem, actually the door wasn’t even locked. The instructor was very welcoming and didn’t miss a beat with the class. So I had no clue that I would be refused entry for a 3 minute delay. I wasted time, experienced frustration due to traffic, inconvenienced colleagues by leaving early, mileage on my car, etc because an accident caused me to be 3 minutes late and the instructor decided she couldn’t be bothered to allow people who had registered for the class to enter after a measly 3 minutes. For what Lifetime costs monthly, this is unacceptable and instructors shouldn’t be given the liberty to lock people out that quickly. I understand 10 minutes or more late, but less than 5 is just ridiculous. I understand not wanting to interrupt the flow of the class, but that small of a delay, you’re still warming up, and it shouldn’t be that significant. If other yoga instructors, and other group fitness instructors allow some grace, Gigi should be doing the same. If she wants to go against the grain, then she should get her own studio and make as many rules as she wants."
"Some staff members aren’t professional nor pleasant. Lifetime as a brand is top tier but this facility needs help. Broken equipment, overcrowded, children in the weights area (which is prohibited), and locker rooms need a deeper clean. They were in the process of remodeling when I switched gyms but I held them to the LF standard that I experienced at Alpharetta and Johns Creek which is why I’m dissatisfied and feel like they didn’t measure up. And it’s most certainly overpriced."
"Absolutely love the gym and the front desk staff is always helpful, however the cafe is the complete opposite. The cafe staff is not friendly or even attentive. I’ve seen so many people walk out because nobody is at the front paying attention to the customers. I’ve had to get a refund because I waited over 20 minutes for my food and it wasn’t even started. There was only one person working on a Saturday because the pregnant coworker wouldn’t help. The pregnant woman who I am assume is the manager is a terrible example of customer service and is so put out helping the customers. I understand she’s probably not feeling great but a little effort or acknowledgment would go a long way. Such a day and night experience from the rest of the gym, it’s really disappointing. I would love to spend more money eating there after my work out but now avoid it like the plague because of how bad the service is."
"For $200/month you’d think they would stay on top of the broken equipment. I took pics of the LABELED broken equipment. There are plenty more that aren’t working that don’t even have signs. I have complained to the staff about it already. One of the unlabeled broken treadmills almost caused me to fall because it has a broken belt and it is tilting on a decline. It is the pic of the treadmill with no signs indicating that it’s broken. This is dangerous but management clearly does not care. There are other lifting machines that also aren’t working. It’s not bad when the gym is empty but during peak hours you can definitely feel it. LA fitness is a fraction of the cost with newer and better equipment. Even Crunch has better equipment."
"This is the best gym ever . Doesn’t get any better than this . Great staff , so so many amenities, great equipment , easy check in . Once you go to Lifetime, any other gym can’t beat it! Monthly membership is not cheap , but it’s reasonable if you’re there a lot . Steam room , sauna , out door pools , hot jacuzzi , water slide, cafe , relaxing room to watch T.V and do work , Pilates classes . Great gym ."
