"I have been visiting Old Forge for years. I love thin crust pizza, and actually seek it out in my travels. I have had lots of places’ version of thin crust, even try to make it at home. When they are “on”, the Tony Harper’s in Old Forge has some of the best thin crust “broadway” style pizza anywhere. The Hunter is my favorite. Some of my family’s best casual dinning experiences and memories have been here. And it’s not just the pizza, the whole menu and experience can be an experience talked about for years. When they are “off”, like swamped or the right person is not running the kitchen, buyer be aware. You may have to suffer through 40 + minutes of waiting only to be told the broadway pizza is not available today (happened twice to my family). If the thin crust pizza wasn’t as good as it actually is, when you get a good one, I would have stopped going a long time ago. The pictures included in this review represent pizza’s and service that were excellent."
"The pizza here is phenomenal. So much flavor and great crust. Massive draft selection. Quick service. We have eaten outside and inside. Orders are placed at the counter so don’t wait at your seat!"
"If you drive through Old Forge NY and don't stop at this most unique bar, restaurant, pizza parlor, and clam shack, I am sorry, but we can no longer be social media friends! Bartender Maja was as efficient, pleasant, and an all-around best bartender in the Adirondack Mountains! Delicious, and I mean Delicious, Long Island Ice Tea I have ever had cross my lips! So, come for the burgers, stay for the drinks and for goodness sake, don't forget the clams, and Pizza's!"
"Nate was extremely rude when we arrived to pick up our togo order. As soon as we walked in he looked up and says "were closed!" After we informed him that we had a take out order he tells us they're out of bone in wings so replaced them with boneless. Which is fine-but a heads up would have been nice or even an apology. After getting back to the hotel we realize they aren't even boneless, they're pieces of grilled chicken cut up and tossed in sauce. The pizza was good- lacked pepperoni. While paying he says to us "what do you expect we're out of everything's it's been a very busy night" almost putting the blame on us. We're paying customers so we expect to get what we pay for. He then tells us "you guys are being rude!" Nate needs a training in customer service."
"When we walked in the front door we were greeted by one of the workers who told us that we could sit wherever we wanted and when we were ready to order, bring the order up to the cashier. Since we had a large party it was a little weird but the ordering style was more akin to how you order food at a bar, this place does have a bar but I think the restaurant portion is much busier and if you eat outside, a waitress will take your order per usual. A party of 10 cost us just under $200 which I felt was a fair price. Some of the food looked better than others. The crispy chicken sandwich could have used a little more ranch and when we asked for more it was given. The BBQ pizza was great, the best part of the meal however I thought were the wings with the signature whiskey sauce. The bathroom smelled like pee but I didn’t take any points away for that, the tables are nice and well organized. We sat at a table with 6 chairs and there were only 3 menus. Other than those minuscule items, the experience and food were really good."
