"One star because I am not allowed minus points. I have always tried to shop local and therefore have paid a higher rate with old Fort insurance only to be totally ripped off when I file a claim with them for my home (the second one in 40 years). Even during the initial conversation with Ron I am informed that I will most likely not be covered (he actually seemed pleased to share this information). The damage was from a leak that I was unaware of due to the fact that it was inside the wall and it was discovered by accident. The adjuster came with a preconceived opinion and everything went downhill from there, including the fact that Ron has conviently been out of the office for the past week. We requested and were denied a second opinion. I have paid a hefty rate for what I assumed to be proper coverage and I thought that I could trust a fellow local business person....my mistake, AND it will be a costly one for me. I hope that you are happy old Fort insurance agency and that you have enjoyed my money over the years because there will be no more from me. I suggest that anyone looking to purchase insurance think about what happened to me, and most likely many others, before you deal with this business. Update Nov 6,2020 I called to cancel my homeowner's and business policy and yet again Ron was conveniently out of the office, he did return my call later in the day. After I stated my reason for the call he did not at any time thank me for my business over the years or make any effort to retain me as a customer. I now assume that my effort to support a local business was a waste of time and money. Lesson learned (the hard way)."
