Wise Fishing Charters

"I’ll start out by saying that Captain Steve is a great guy and the boat ride was great! Unfortunately I learned a lesson about private charter fishing… If the first mate doesn’t show up and all you have is the captain… Don’t go on the boat! With no one to manage the lines, fishing and catching is near impossible. Steve tried his best to drive the boat and set up the lines but was 100% unsuccessful. I tried to help… even cleaned up a huge bird nest (knot) in the line when the drag wasn’t set correctly. The lines were tangled the entire trip so we had no chance of catching anything. I thought surely he’d offer a discount or an apology. Nope… charged us full price for a horrible experience. We even tipped him an extra $100 because we realize he tried as hard as he could. So… again… If you get to the boat and it’s only the captain without his first mate… Don’t go… it’ll be miserable."

"We booked for a half day finishing charter with Mr. Captain Wise and First Mate Dan and had the best time. This was my first fishing charter and I couldn’t have had a better experience! We were in total control of how long we wanted to fish and what we wanted to try and fish for. The price was reasonable and the overall experience was unforgettable. Highly recommend these fellas!"

"Perfect day on the ocean with Captain Wise and an excellent mate, Captain Brad. We couldn’t have expected or experienced more with these two wonderful folks. Very knowledgeable in every aspect of the fishing experience. Captain Wise put us on the fish, and fish we caught. Captain Brad was wonderful in keeping us baited and ready for the next strike, along with taking all the fish off the hooks, and filleting the keepers for us to take home. Best overall fishing trip we have ever had. We will be back Captain Wise, so be ready to go out again."

"Could not have had a better experience. The crew went out of their way and worked so hard to make sure we had a good time. They were very friendly and experienced. We had a small group so the private charter was definitely the way to go instead of a larger boat with multiple parties. The captain stayed in contact with us several days ahead of time so we would know the best day and even the best hour to arrive. Wise fishing charter should always be your first option for ocean fishing when visiting the Myrtle Beach area."

"Went fishing with Captain George and First Mate Dan on 8/15/18. I first want to thank them for working with us. We scheduled the trip weeks before and then less than a week I had to cancel it because it looked like we were not going to make the whole vacation. Two days later, our plans changed again and we were able to keep our vacation plans. I contacted Wise Fishing Charters right away, fearing that someone else had already booked the date and time that we originally wanted. Surprisingly, they were able and happy to accommodate us. It was a hot, still day. The first mate moved and worked hard to get lines ready for us. We caught several Spanish Markel, a couple of Sea Bass, and, unfortunately, only one tiny shark. Slightly disappointed in the limited amount of bass and really no sharks (that is what I really wanted to catch) and that we didn’t troll for shrimp (due to previous weather conditions), but as the captain told us and we totally understand and agree – it is called fishing NOT catching. Thoroughly enjoyed the personal touch and private charter and that this is a family owned and run business. All in all, we had a good time, glad we went, and am looking forward to going out again with Captain George when the weather is cooler and the fish may be biting better."
