I felt like she failed to understand what I hoped to accomplish from the legal process. Instead, during a very emotional time, I deferred to her to guide me through the process...thinking she would have my best interests at heart. Instead, I felt like she was very aggressive in her strategy, which angered my ex wife and her attorney. I simply wanted a fair agreement and to make sure my daughter was taken care of......money was not important to me at all. And, in the end I proved that by giving up everything to keep my daughter in NC. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to know whether you are hiring the right person to help you during one of the most vulnerable times of your life. Speak to family, speak to friends, speak top coworkers, and interview multiple lawyers........that's my advice so that you do not have to have the same experience I did. I had a house fire, a divorce, a lost company, and a baby girl on the way all at the same time.......I'm a loving father, and I now have a great relationship with my ex wife as we co-parent my 5 year old daughter. The legal process was the worst part....and, it didn't have to be!"
