Reviews of Luxury Bath & Kitchens of Raleigh
"Chase Arthur did a good job with sharing what Luxury Bath products and materials that are available to upgrade my bathroom. He was on time each visit to my home. He appeared to be responsive and respectful of my opinions in asking questions concerning my bathroom remodel project. I shared with Chase, that I’ll make my decision by Jan. 3rd with mutual understanding that this bathroom remodel project would begin in February 2024. Respectively yours, Emma & Alfreda Gentry"
"Nick was a true gem, professional at best! He was respectful, took his time explaining the products, style options, and payments. He listened to my wants and needs. If Nick is your guy, then I promise you are in good hands!"
"Wonderful Experience & Great Customer Service! Our tub to shower conversion was a success. It was so important that it was completed on time because it was a part of the VA-HISA Grant for Veterans. Luxury Bath made it an easy process because they understand the HISA Grant requirements even though mine was a little out of the ordinary. Everyone is so pleasant and eager to assist. We would like to personally thank Don, Sandy, Deborah and Larry. Especially Larry! Larry was our installer and he explained everything step by step. He did an amazing job! As daughter and caregiver of my parents, I thank each of you for being so kind, and patient during this process."
"The saving grace: the installer, staff, and warranty. The downfall: the consultation. I was planning on giving a 2-star review, but the installer bumped it up to three. We got a new walk-in shower installed because our old shower door literally fell off (i.e. we did not need any plumbing repairs, so this review is not helpful in that capacity). The red flag was the absolute insistence of my husband and I both being home for the quote - if we were more experienced, we would have known this is because the plan was to heavily pressure us into agreeing to the quote. Unfortunately, this was the first quote we got for a shower, and we said so; we have no idea if we got a good deal or if we were completely scammed ($13,000 for what feels like a basic acrylic shower). The original quote that was provided for our basic shower was over $19,000, and what ensued was what felt like buying a car, characterized by promises of the best price and quality with showmanship of lowering the price to what felt more reasonable. Honestly the main reason we agreed was because of the lifetime limited warranty. When scheduling the quote, we were told the quote would take 60-90 minutes. The quote took 3 hours even though we used the website to build an example of the shower we wanted to save some time. Despite all that time, it turns out that we were not given any options for the hardware other than the finish (chrome v other), whereas there turns out to be a large book with tons of hardware options - this was skipped without our knowing to 'save time'. However, worth-while time was spent reviewing the options for the material that would make up the wall of the shower. We were misled several times during the quote too: 1) we asked for one finish (grey line on white), was quoted another (white line on white), but the quote did not make that clear so it’s our fault for agreeing to the original quote. After we had already made the $6,500 deposit we got a call asking for more money for the finish that we wanted. 2) We were told there would be an example of the pattern we originally wanted (hexagon) in the showroom; this was false, the showroom did have our second option of subway tile in a different finish. 3) We were told the install would take one day; it took three. Additionally, David, I assume the specialist at the showroom, leaves the showroom early every day, so I missed him in communication twice. Now for the good-side: Everyone with Luxury Bath was friendly and they answered all of our questions in a timely and respectable manner. Install was 5.5 weeks after we made our deposit, although I'm sure that it would have been faster had I not wanted to reconsider the wall pattern and seat choice (which they were patient about, and quickly did a revision for). While our installer didn’t directly communicate with us before coming, he was approachable and easy to talk to during the install. He was respectful of our home, putting down floor covers on our new carpet (thank you!). He patched up the ceiling below the shower after it suffered a small crack during demo. He understood our need for the shower to be square, and worked hard to make it perfect. He worked through the frustrating misty weather on the second morning. And he was patient with me when I pointed out minor flaws in caulking during the final review, and he took care of those immediately. Overall, he did an excellent, professional job. At the time of this Google review, we have not yet used the shower, but the final product looks professional and clean. Just like every home project we've ever done, we will have to do finishing touches like painting the ceiling, walls, and baseboards; and recalk the nearby affected quarter-rounds framing the baseboards."
"We've had several issues with communication (lack of), timeliness, delays, and ultimately, an unfinished bathroom that we have to get another contractor to complete. Luxury Bath's website shows beautifully renovated bathrooms that look like they were professionally done. What we were left with looks NOTHING like anything we've ever seen on their site or FB page. We met with Rich (salesman) back in January of 2021. We explained our vision, provided pictures and explicitly stated that we wanted a turnkey, fully renovated bathroom. We thought we were all on one accord and signed a contract exciting about our soon to be "luxury bathroom". Due to COVID delays, the project start/completion was set for May, with a 7 workday timeline. When May came and went, we had not heard from Luxury Bath and it wasn't until reached out to them July that we heard anything from them, after several attempts to get a response. Our project finally started in September, again with a 7 day timeline. It took about 2 weeks to get the initial work done but another 3 months to correct issues with the design. There was a serious breakdown in communication when a major part of the custom vanity was altered without any discussion with us. Ultimately, Luxury Bath says that their works is complete as of December 20, almost a full year from the time we signed the contract. We asked for consideration for the delays but were told that they were having to absorb "additional cost" for having to fix the design problems. It's extremely disappointing that based on the cost of this "full renovation", we still have to find someone else to finish the project. Another review mentioned that the pricing is expensive and they were right. We just thought that it would be worth the investment (it wasn't). For anyone considering doing business with Luxury Bath, here are a few things to consider: 1) Be sure that if you are doing a complete remodel that you have them list every single detail of what will and will not be included in the work and be sure that the salesman speaks to the project manager and the actual contractors to ensure they all understand the design before you sign the contract. NOTE: Turnkey, doesn't actually mean turnkey. 2) Be very wary of the timelines that you are quoted. Once the work starts, you are at the mercy of Luxury Bath until your space is completed. We actually did a competitive bid for the renovation and had another company that had great rating but we went with Luxury Bath because they offered a substantially shorter timeline. 3) Communication with the company is challenging. We had to initiate all requests for any updates on delays. 4) PAINTING IS NOT INCLUDED!!! Per the owner, "We do not paint nor involve ourselves in that trade...I would encourage you to conduct a local search for well regarded painters, contact them, receive estimates, and decide which one will best serve your need." (Even though other reviews indicate that paint was a part of their projects). 5) Cabinets and drawers do not come with handles, pulls or knobs. We also had to purchase those out of pocket. 6) The final product may not look like anything you've seen on the site. It's really unfortunate that such a huge investment ended like this. It was a struggle to decide on what rating to assign. I would love to be able to give Luxury Bath a 5 star rating but the finished product fell way short. It feels like a bait and switch. In no world is this the bathroom that anyone would want to end up with (and again, it doesn't look like anything I've ever seen on their site). The experience with Luxury Bath has been one that we will never forget. If it wasn't for two sub-contractors (Chris and Alfonso) that actually did the work, the rating would be lower. Chris and Alfonso did some really hard, quality work. As just a team of two, they removed our old shower, tub, floors, built a new linen closet (which also doesn't get painted) and installed the new shower and vanity. They were on time and professional but ultimately, it was Luxury Bath that left us here."
