About Us

East End Park is a 9.46-acre park located in East Central Durham, North Carolina. Established in 1932 through a generous donation of land by local philanthropists John Sprunt Hill and Annie Watts Hill, the park has since undergone significant renovations and additions. The park features a variety of amenities including ball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a sprayground, and playgrounds. One of the highlights of the park is the Neighborhood Park Mural Project, which aims to engage local artists in creating murals that celebrate the culture and history of Durham’s neighborhoods. Raleigh-based artist Sarahlaine Calva's vibrant mural can be seen on the newly renovated bathroom facility at East End Park. With its rich history and commitment to public art, East End Park is a must-visit tourist attraction in Durham.

"Trash everywhere. Broken glass on paths. Restrooms closed for renovation. Sad sprayground but at least it worked. Tennis courts looked nice."

"I like East End a lot but I could see why people might avoid it. The facilities are nice, great tennis courts and hard court soccer field, but there can be an issue with people on drugs there. Everybody keeps to themselves though"

"The kids had an awesome time on the water pad. Its perfect not to many kids no matter what time if day you decide to go. Its clean and we felt safe."
