"These attorney thinks they are better than anyone else. They will NOT return phone calls. When you call the office no matter what you will be transferred automatically too someones voice mail where you leave message that is NEVER RETURN. The head public defender Mac Garner who is elected by the citizens has done nothing to help me or the taxpayers of Blount County. This office is a disgrace to Blount County and the citizens. Call your state congressman and make a judicial complaint and further look into filing complaint s based on the cannon laws. These laws govern atty s which they can loose there license to practice law."

"My son is incarcerated in Blont Co. Jail. Today is my son's court date & I drove from Bristol to Maryville. I left the public defender's contact info at home. There is a directory of PD's on the PD's phone line, however, I couldn't remember his name. So, I listened to the office staff's directory and just pushed one hoping to speak with someone who might point me in the right direction. Because of Covid, Court is closed to everyone except the actual person attending court. Therefore, after driving 2 hours, I am sitting in my car in the courthouse parking lot. Connie is the office personnel that I reached. I explained my situation to her. She was a lifesaver. Not only did she figure out who the new PD is, she called him and left him a message to call her back. She spoke with him & then she called me back with pertinent information. She even offered to take my number and forward it with a message to the PD to ensure my son knew I was here waiting on him to be released since he couldn't see me in court. Unfortunately, I have been in my son's shoes. And when you are being released, knowing that someone is waiting on you makes all the difference in the world. Connie went above and beyond to make that happen for us. She was extremely nice and funny. Reaching her made this Manic Monday more Peaceful! Thanks Connie!"
