Reviews
"Best Real Estate attorney around. Very knowledgeable and very accommodating."
"We had a very bad experience with this attorney and do not recommend their services. Melissa tried to charge us unnecessary seller fees and was unprofessional in her communication. For example, she tried to add a $175 fee for hiring our own attorney, which we did not pay. She claimed it was for additional document preparation, but most of the documents she listed were not relevant or already included in our purchase agreement. She tried to sneak the fee back into the final CD before closing again. After we told her we wouldn't be paying the fee, she became condescending and rude. Here is one of her email responses to our attorney’s reasonable request for an update one week before closing (he cc'd us, the sellers, and she was angry about that for some reason): “It might have been easier to actually follow up with our office instead of blasting the question out to individuals who have nothing to do with the substantive question you’re asking. Please feel free to give us a ring or send me an email, and ill let you know if we need any revisions OR you can wait until we complete review and get back to you…thanks so much!” This office also failed to overnight the proceeds after the deed recorded, even though we paid $45 for that service. The deed recorded at 4:24PM, and Triangle Property Law states EOB is at 5:30PM on their website. I called them at noon the day after closing, and they still hadn't printed the check yet. I have bought and sold many properties in this area. I’ve never dealt with this level of unprofessionalism before. I hope this attorney improves her communication and customer service skills. I urge you to look for a better attorney elsewhere. If your buyer selects this attorney, read the Terms of Service carefully and don’t agree to their excessive seller fees or “disclosing your personal data with affiliates and nonaffiliated parties”, ie: they can sell your data."
"Awesome BILINGUAL attorney! I have had a handful of closings with them and the transactions have been extremely smooth! If you need a bilingual attorney who will take the time to explain to your clients everything, I would definitely recommend them! :)"
"A little background first about closings for those who may not be familiar with the process. When a buyer goes under contract to buy a property in NC they will choose a closing attorney. When you are the seller of the property you have the right to choose your own attorney to handle your side of the transaction which will typically cost you anywhere from $200 to $300, or, in most cases the seller will just allow the buyers select closing attorney process their side of the transaction. Triangle property law was the law firm selected by the buyer, the law firm sent me a seller information sheet which also contained a list of their fees. If I was to select them to do the closing for my side of the transaction they would have charged me a $295 fee.. They had a myriad of other fees that they tacked on top of the $295 such as a $45 wire fee. I had already had another attorney prepare all my documents for this transaction. When I announced this to triangle property law they said that a $175 review fee would apply, I told them I was not hiring them for anything and I was not going to pay them any money to review another attorneys documents. Their first attempt to overcome this objection was that this is normal and everybody pays this. I told them I do not have the same experience and I am not paying it. The next step was the attorney sending me an email stating that this is non-negotiable. My response to her was I am not negotiating with you either, I am not paying you the fee. I approached the buyer's agent , who had been excellent to work with during the whole transaction, I let her know that this was unacceptable and I was not going to pay the law firm anything. I asked her to let her clients know that if the law firm assesses me any fees of any kind then I will pass them along to the buyer. I am not hiring this law firm for anything and I do not feel it's fair that me or them pay any fees, but if they force a fee on me, I will have to pass that along to them. The buyer's agent understood, and went back to the law firm, the law firm again refused and told the buyer's agent that I must pay the fee and they are not going to charge anybody but me. At this time, I told the buyer's agent that this is unacceptable and she will have to find another closing attorney to do the job. When triangle property law was faced with this, suddenly the $175 fee disappeared. As we approached the closing of the property, they told me that they were not going to wire my funds unless, I came to the office in person! . This is something I had never experienced before, I am accustomed to closings only wiring funds to prevent fraud. In fact, this law firm says that they only accept wires they will not accept cashier's checks or personal checks. But this is the way they will pay you, if you do not consent to come into their office to fill out a wire form in person. In addition to this ridiculous mandate from triangle property law, they also wanted to charge a $45 wire fee, fortunately for me my agent was willing to pick up my proceeds check and deliver it to my bank. I did not end up paying triangle property law anything. Very bad experience."
"AS a listing agent I had a terrible experience with a very simple cash transaction .Buyer chose Triangle Property Law for closing attorney. We used our preferred law firm for seller doc prep as their seller doc prep was almost 2x as much. The Transaction was littered with mistakes from simple name misspellings to errors and omissions on the HUD but what was most concerning was the $175 "closing and settlement fee" they charged my seller even though we hired our own attorney for seller docs. If you are a listing agent and are using your own attorney for seller docs be careful when signing their TOS as they WILL charge your client unnecessary fees. I questioned this fee to attorney, Melissa, and she could not give a clear explanation and ended up getting mad and shouting at me stating that this is a completely normal industry fee charged to he other [arty of the transaction even though they were never hired by them. They also proceeded to mail a check to my client instead of wiring even though we requested a wire. 6 reviews on here and 3 are 1-star tells you everything you need to know. Overall very poor experience and will be avoiding them at all costs!"
