Reviews of Myrtle Beach Resort by Beach Vacations
"Kids had a wonderful time but there were several issues at different points, the worst issue is the 24-hour emergency line or after hours emergency line they don't like to answer the phone or respond when messages are left. The woman whose number that the overnight goes to is rude and doesn't care about the customers. So if after hours is needed good luck."
"Terrible customer service!! I normally never leave bad reviews but the customer service at this place is by far the worst I've ever seen. The manager was completely rude every time we had to interact with her. They didn't even magnetize our room key on one of our keys and so we were completely locked out of our room after returning from the pool. So my family and I had to walk all the way to the office in our wet bathing suits to find that the office was closed (which was fine) so we had to get the gatekeeper to phone security since we had left our phones in our rooms. To make a long story short, the manager had told us when we had checked in that if we lose our keys we would have to pay $100 to be let back in. Well since we had to be let in we were afraid we would have to pay the fee even though it was not our fault since we had our keys but one didn't work. So upon going to the office this morning to get a new key for the one that didn't work, we had to go through the manager arguing with us that we weren't who we really were and that some other family was booked. Needless to say, she had the dates mixed up and was still unapologetic and basically told us that she should have been notified that we were locked out last night because she is the manager and she normally deals with that sort of thing. And so my husband asked to make sure we weren't going to be charged and she said no we wouldn't be charged the $100 since she didn't have to come out. But that is ridiculous! You should not have to pay $100 charge to be locked out of your room when it is their fault that they did not give us a working key in the first place!!!"
"I have seen many bad reviews for this hotel but the unit we got was clean, comfortabl. The staff was helpful. The location is grea, we were not in the front towers but it was close enough to walk."
"I have been visiting here for 19 years, I have been here once a year more years than not in that 19 years. I used to love this resort because it was always quiet , neatly kept up, and always security guards present. Well this year it was a very different scene. Security is at the entrance only saw one guard away from the entrance once in a whole week. The smell of marijuana was very strong multiple times during the week. There were two women fighting right outside our balcony (first floor) on Sunday morning and a MBR employee just stood and watched. The scrubs were not well trimmed , that’s not a major issue it’s just that this place was always so well maintained for an older resort. The walls of the lazy River were nasty. There was no one monitoring the speed in which people were flying through the resort, there are always families with small children walking to various places and this is a huge safety concern for this small children with cars speeding past. It’s not a terrible place but definitely not the same as it’s been in years past. The security guards not leaving the entrance (there were always about 4 or more huddled up ) didn’t seem to be a short staff issue, just laziness. This may be my last visit, which is sad because this has always been a nice and favorite place to visit."
