Reviews of Lakewood Camping Resort
"We have stayed here a few times now and absolutely love it! The only complaint we have is with the ice cream parlor… we love to get ice cream every day (sometimes twice a day) while we’re there for a week++… however, this past summer we were there and the staff was young high school kids who didn’t like to make milk shakes and let you know that. We ordered banana splits and they weren’t happy about that either. Usually had 1 person working during peak times and the line went slow and customers got frustrated quickly."
"We stayed for a month right after Labor Day. It was our third stay here. All in all it was a good fun time. At least no hurricane this year. The security staff seemed much better than the previous years more friendly and very helpful. Most of the front desk staff were great, one lady not so when I went up for a package, I was sorry to bother her. We spend very little time or money at the Trading Post but let me tell you that you have a Gem in Nichole, always friendly and helpful. She has been on previous trips, just a nice person Another employee I’ll mention is Mike the lifeguard, very attentive as to what was going on in the pool, some weren’t quite so. The sites are tight and some are sandy, a big class A with tag axle got stuck in an adjacent site. But ya can put up with the closeness for the beach which some new crossovers were installed. The infrastructure is getting old on many sites, some bathhouses need an redo also. The bathhouses I used were clean at all times. Main issue with me and I’ll be hated here are the golf carts, I hear the rentals are governed but man people need to learn to pay attention and stop talking on the phone. Walking you move for them, even when road is empty. The residents apparently aren’t governed and fly by especially after dark. The bathroom by ice cream store and arcade had no soap dispenser or were there any signs of one being mounted at some point. The “abandoned” toilet seat in one bathroom was on the seat for several day. We will be back, the off season monthly rate is good and we enjoy the beach and the area. Ya need less golf carts and salad bar, just saying"
"So fun!!!!! They have a restaurant and ice cream parlor on site, so if you don't feel like cooking a meal, you don't have to. They have several pool options and are ocean front. They have a singing group that puts on an amazing performance that is free with the cost of the resort. It is very family friendly and I did not see anyone drinking alcohol openly. The pool had a really cool water slide that everyone loved! It's a place you will want to come back to year after year. You can camp with a tent, RV, or they have small cottages you can rent out. Definitely look at getting the little golf carts."
"Recently wrapped up a 2 week vacation and we absolutely enjoyed every minute! Plenty to do with the kids and the staff were always friendly and accommodating. We had a breaker issue on our site and the facility staff came out promptly and replaced the breaker. Campground is certainly busy, so be prepared for plenty of golf carts and people. Overall, we had a blast and pretty much didn’t need to leave the campgrounds. Trading post has plenty to offer and the food stand prices throughout the resort are reasonably priced. Security is always present and friendly. Once quiet hours hit, not a peep could be heard. 2 weeks wasn’t long enough and we’re hoping to come back for at least a month. Highly recommend!!!"
