"We had the BEST experience here for Chinese New Year!! The drinks were creative and delicious. The food was to die for! I could literally swim in the bean paste that came with the pork belly special. Everything was authentic and well executed. Would totally recommend and 100% come back! Service was quick and friendly. Tried several of the drinks and all of them were fantastic. 10/10 add it to your list."
"Let me start by saying the food was yummy! We tried lots of the small plates, favorites were the crab rangoon dip with wontons and the charred green beans. Service seemed a little off, lots of people doing specific things, but everyone was friendly and we didn't mind the slower pace of dining. Also, it is small, which is fine, but one of the tables was SO LOUD it felt like it created a chaotic vibe. Certainly not the restaurant's fault, just sharing that space is limited, make reservations!"
"As an Asian American who grew up going to Houston’s Chinatown almost every weekend, I was very excited to eat Dim Sum here. I feel like Greenville is really lacking in authentic Asian food so I knew I had to come. We got: Siu Mai, Veggie Dumplings, green beans, and Gai Lan. The Gai Lan was so tender and just amazing. Although the food was so delicious and the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful, I couldn’t stop comparing the prices to all the Dim Sum restaurants back home. Even after paying a combined $80, we left with stomachs not yet full. I guess this is supposed to be a “fine dining” cocktail experience, while the other Dim Sum restaurants have cheaper prices to encourage sharing with your family and friends. I can see us coming back to enjoy cocktails and a small dish at the bar."
"I had such high hopes. We tried everything but the food wasn’t memorable. The dumplings were okay. The crab Rangoon tasted like straight creamed cheese with a little hot sauce on top. The Chinese broccoli is entirely too salty. The cucumber salad was bland. Not sure how I feel about the congee. The waitress was friendly but she spent more time at the bar with the rest of the staff and eventually disappeared. She never came back to our table. It was unprofessional, almost snotty. We had to get up and ask for our bill. I’m a foodie and with that said this was just a disappointment all together."
"It’s amazing to see an authentic concept like Sum Bar come to Greenville. It was much-needed. Excellent choices for food and drink. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and able to help you find something you like! I loved the green beans(!!) and egg drop soup. The green beans were well-seasoned and had a nice crunch. The egg drop soup was flavorful without being overly salty. Make a reservation!"
