Reviews of Escape Property Management and Vacation Rentals
"Do NOT use this firm to manage your property. We contracted them to manage 2 condo unit for us over a 20 month period. The units only performed at 25% of Paul's expectations. Making matters worse was that after month #1, I personally had to follow up with Debra to understand when I would be paid each and every month afterward. Electronic payments routinely took several days to received. Typical payment was received 12-15 days late. This group has 0 credibility or integrity, always providing excuses with very limited results. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was when their system reported one of my units renting out to multiple tenants on multiple occasions for $28-35 per night. Paul assured me numerous times this was incorrect and the system would be corrected and funds remitted. After waiting several months of more excuse making we moved on to another management firm. BEWARE."
"If I could post ZERO stars, I would. I booked through a third party app in June and cancelled in August. The cancellation was to be free up to May of 2024. I received the refund from the 3rd party app...but still haven't received my refund from Escape Property Management. They claim the check was "lost in the mail" and will not respond to any emails or calls. STAY AWAY. They just want to steal your money."
"BEWARE!!! The owner of this company, Paul, is a thief. I reserved a condo through VRBO in March of 2023 (for a date in June 2024). 3 months later, Paul tries to get me to pay more money ($2500 more). VRBO told me that is against their policy, for a host to increase the cost after a reservation has been confirmed, so I refused to pay more $$. So, in October of 2023, Paul just cancels my reservation with no notice. Its been a month and he refuses to refund my money. First he said he couldn't reverse the charges on my credit card so he had to mail a check to me, now he refuses to respond to my messages asking where my money is. Its 11/22 and I still don't have my money. They are thieves, beware!!!"
"This was our fourth year staying at Towers on the Grove but our first year renting through an owner versus the condo itself. Because it was a third party rental- wristbands weren't included which allow access to the gym and events held during our stay. Linen/cleaning services were also not included and only 2 of our 6 pillows had a pillow case. The bed was terrible and I emailed the company the day after we got there to see about getting additional pillow cases and the possibility of a mattress topper. That email was never returned. I called the office multiple times and was never able to reach anyone. They charge just short of $200 for a cleaning fee but the room was far from my standards of clean. Luckily we took our own cleaning supplies just in case. The room itself was also in need of some tlc- painting, fixing cabinet doors that no longer align and close properly, toilet in the bedroom bath runs constantly just to name a few things. We'll go back again next year but book directly through the condo itself as we did in years past."
"Buyer beware. Cockroaches - literally! Terrible experience with this company. We stayed at the Grand Cayman Unit 1253 and it is nothing like what you will see in the photos. The price I paid verses what we got is fraudulent. While I wasn’t expecting a five-star property/accommodations, for $4,800 I did expect: -1) To feel safe in my environment. Shortly after arrival today we witnessed a male on the 7th floor walking down the aisle pushing on doors as if he were trying to find one opened. Then when we get in the condo there are multiple signs that encourage keeping doors locked for safety?! I have my grandchildren with me and this scared them?!! It implies that there have been issues in the past and they won’t be safe?! Now they’re worried?!!! This was not disclosed when I booked this property. -2) I expected the unit would be clean when I arrived. The sliding doors look like they haven’t been cleaned in ages. The furniture is dirty and looks nothing like the photos presented online. -3) I expected decent accommodations. The sofa is so narrow that it’s uncomfortable to sit on. It’s like sitting in a small park bench. So there’s no lounging in the living room. The sheets on the beds are old and rough. There are no blankets - just a thin motel-like bedspread. The kitchen is sparse and the utensils were dirty. There was literally dry food caked on some. 4. Wi-Fi. A basic necessity for anyone traveling these days. This unit has no wi-if but instead you have to rely on the resort wi-fi which is low grade and does not provide adequate coverage - so essentially you are without. So now instead of being focused on a relaxing, enjoyable vacation we have to worry about our safety while not being able to live comfortably for more than a week in a clean, accommodating living space. While I understand that beach properties can get rundown - the prices should reflect that - and they should be honest and upfront about the accommodations. I have stayed in numerous oceanfront properties and paid less and had a far better experience (outside of Myrtle Beach). It feels like they are taking advantage of people that work hard, save up, and sacrifice to have memorable (not in a bad way) family time and vacations. They then offered us amusement tickets and a $500 refund. After scheduling the amusement tickets they refused to honor our partial refund."
