"PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING RENTING with Real Property Management. This is the most flagrantly unethical and anti-tenant property management company my wife and I have ever experienced. We’ve had many issues during the move-out process, but there are two that everyone watch out for: [Unconscionable & Anti-Tennant Lease Terms] We rented a unit from RPM for four years. This year we decided not to renew, and had to move out seven weeks before our lease-end date. We offered to turn our keys in early, pay the rest of our rent, and keep utilities on until the end of the lease. This was not enough for RPM, and upon finding out we were moving seven weeks early, charged us an extra month’s rent because of the ‘Early Lease Termination’ clause in the Rental Policies Lease Addendum. In this unconscionable clause, no specificity is provided regarding an acceptable time to move out, which would legally mean RPM could charge tenants with this fee at any time during move-out. After legal review, the lease and addendum are filled with unconscionable terms that would leave any tenant unprotected and susceptible to something like what we experienced. [Flagrantly Unethical Security Deposit Charges] After unsuccessfully attempting to get the above fee waived from our balance, we were hoping to at least receive our security deposit back. Instead, RPM delivered a list of itemized charges that were suspiciously identical and totaled to an amount that left receiving $0 of our deposit. On the list of charges, we noticed three sets of duplicate amounts for different items, including the following: - $268.13 for “Cleaning Following Move-Out” and $268.13 for “Replace Broken Microwave Handle” - $214.50 for “Carpet Cleaning” and $214.50 for “Replace Missing Window Screens” - $37.52 for “Replace cable ports” and $37.52 for “Replace dirty AC filters, bulbs, and batteries” Falsifying charges on a security deposit disposition with the intent to keep the entire deposit amount is illegal. Real Property Management has used their anti-tenant and unconscionable lease terms to squeeze every last dollar from their loyal tenants of four years. Renters, please look elsewhere"

"The staff is pleasant, however, I regret that we have to pay an extra $588 a year on top of our rent to this property management company for a MANDATORY benefit pkg that is NOT needed for our household. This should be optional to tenants. Unfortunately for us we don’t have a choice in this matter at this time. This is why I give 2 stars out of 5."
"We had a sewage problem that took a month to be resolved. The whole house stunk of sewage and a solution to move into a hotel on the owner's dime was only offered days before a repair man was going to be sent out to fix it. Our kids and my wife got sick due to the issue. Then the AC went out for 2 weeks in the summer time and the response was slow to have it fixed. Our dishwasher has not worked a single time since we moved in and someone has been out to look at it 5-6x with no resolution. I got a bill over email saying we owe 265$ but nobody can tell me what it is for despite going back and forth over email several times. Communication is very lousy and we will be moving out as soon as the lease is up."
"I'm so glad I chose Real Property Management Charlotte Metro to rent through. This is my first time moving out and the process has been so smooth. I applied last Thursday and I am cleaning and moving in within the next few days. I worked with Karla and she made everything so easy! The free concierge service they offer for utilities is wonderful. I had a 15 minute call with them and they got everything set up for me, I just had to provide additional documentation, which was easy! I met with Denise this morning to get my keys and she is so kind and helpful. I will absolutely recommend this company every chance I get. Thank you guys for making my first time moving out such a wonderful experience! :)"
