Reviews of Sky Haven Lodge
"We absolutely loved this house! The views are remarkable and it it great for families! We also got to see a bear and turkeys! Townsend is the perfect place to stay for access to Great Smokey Mountain NP and Gatlinburg/Pidgon Forge. Also highly recommended Tuckaleechee Caverns."
"We loved staying here! The hosts were awesome and the home is beautiful with amazing views and very comfortable beds. Great place for a family vacation!"
"One of my favorite getaways! The accommodations were clean, spacious, and comfortable - pictures don't do it justice! I loved sitting outside during sunrise enjoying the sights and sounds. It's amazing how close the location was to nearby stores and eateries. There was something new to enjoy each day. Although, as much as I enjoyed the locals, I would return just so I could lounge around the cabin all day."
"We loved our time at Sky Haven Lodge! It was truly amazing. The views are stunning, and they change every minute or two in the morning. Townsend is a fantastic, quiet little town. We loved going to nearby sites during the days. As for the house, beds were super comfortable, the kitchen and dining space were more than enough for our needs, and we enjoyed relaxing together in the living room in the evenings. The kids loved the jacuzzi, the thoughtfully planned children's area, the pool table, and the hanging chairs on the lower deck. We also loved checking out the moon and stars with the telescope on the top deck. The owners were a pleasure to work with, and the house couldn't be more enjoyable. We will definitely stay here again!"
"It is with great pleasure to write a glowing review for Sky Haven Lodge, and for the ownership team of Kimberly and Chris. What a wonderful long weekend we had! From an unexpected early arrival flexibility to the week-after-the-stay pleasant surprise, any and all expectations were exceeded! In preparation for our weekend trip with college friends, we received no fewer than 3 emails from the owners informing us of what to expect from our visit -- from views of Mt. La Conte to local eateries and coffee shops, along with detailed guidance on kitchen supplies for our chefs, and excellent guidance on where / where not to park our rear-wheel drive vehicle if the weather turned icy. While the lodge is located in a loosely defined rustic resort neighborhood, it was NOT AT ALL neighborhood-like. Lots of distance between others homes, and beautiful trees and wildlife made for a cozy, mountain retreat. We neither saw nor heard others who might also be taking in a long weekend. The rolling hills and deep hollows, and the density of trees and flora made us feel as if we were truly the only folks in the area. The lodge decor is mountain cottagey, with a few whimsical artifacts thrown in - which made for a very comfortable and warm stay. The lodge has a roomy interior space that we were able to take advantage of for quiet times, and for catching up on some sorely missed reading. Our chef friends delighted in the functionality of the kitchen, and the 6 of us sat comfortably around the dining table with room to spare. There was even space for an impromptu bar set up, from which each couple was able to easily prepare our morning / afternoon / evening signature drinks for the mountain weekend :-) The bedrooms were spacious with very comfortable beds; all guests slept well and had no complaints. The upper bedroom / loft was very cozy, and offered sufficient privacy, and allowed our bunk mates to feel as if they had their very own retreat within a retreat. All three en suite bathrooms were clean and spacious -- and even the main level en suite shared bathroom offered privacy and restricted access if needed. As with any weekend getaway, we had a few self-imposed glitches that were adeptly handled by our wonderful hosts without hesitation. Upon our unexpected early arrival, we were unable to access the lodge because the timer was set (appropriately) for an hour later. After a quick text and phone call with Kimberley, she was able to reset the timer, which allowed us to enter immediately - even after another user error on our end. (Thanks so much!). Our second glitch was a result of our chef friends being a little over eager with multiple cooking devices (two additional appliances brought from home to accommodate the simultaneous cooking requirements), resulting in a tripped kitchen breaker in the lower level, locked utility room. After a quick text, Kimberly and Chris phoned and walked us through the adventure of getting into the utility room to reset the breaker. (Thanks again for the entertaining approach you took to gain us access!). Our third and final self-imposed glitch was simply a key fob that was inadvertently left behind because it had fallen behind the night table in the lower bedroom. It was not noticed missing until we got home, and unable to enter our own premises; fortunately, we had a spare fob, and we were able to gain access to our apartment -- but knew we'd have to pay our landlord $125 for the lost fob. We immediately informed Kimberley -- and yes, you guessed it, Kimberly and the cleaning crew to the rescue! They found the key fob exactly where I told them to look, and immediately sent it via USPS so that we'd have it quickly. And wouldn't you know it, Kimberly would NOT let me reimburse her or the cleaning crew for sending it. (Amazing guest relations!!!) We highly recommend Sky Haven lodge, and trust that others' stays will be as enjoyable and relaxing as ours!"
