"Felt like a ghost town this trip. It was the off season, but seemed like it has lost some of its luster. Bathrooms were clean; staff were all friendly. Hopefully it'll still be around next trip as I want to get up in the sombrero tower and didn't have time this trip."
"After many years of passing this place by, finally stopped for something to eat at the Sombrero Restaurant. Didn't have time to see everything, but did go through one shop there. The food was good, and had great service. May stop again sometime and check out some of the other attractions."
"South of the border has been one of my favorite places to stop for many many years. You can’t miss it and when you get there, when I was younger, I love the fact that you knew you were about to cross the state lines when you got there. In my opinion, this is a really nice rest stop and a landmark- that’s it! It’s a good place to walk around if you’ve been riding a while. The restrooms in the Mexico Shop and The Pantry are clean and there are plenty of stalls. The area is walkable, kid, and dog friendly. Over the years this place has changed drastically . The parking lot has been pretty empty the last few times I have stopped through. There used to be lots of fun shops, food places and quite a few things to do. It now reminds me of a cute little ghost town. The Mexico shop is still open and full of nice little knickknacks, fun stuff for kids , and many off the beaten path items for adults - to include decorative household items and clothing. They also have a gas station and a fireworks store on site. I have never stayed at the hotel on this property or used the amusement park. I have also never seen anyone utilize those spaces. Plenty of accessible parking and an accessible entrance #TTIP: please do not come here for a vacation. This is similar to a basic rest stop - use it as such so that you are not disappointed. Take the kids inside the Mexico shop let them use the restroom walk around and purchase expensive fun items to keep them busy during their trip."
"Still the same great place I recall as a child. I’m in my late 50s now. Crowd size does seem a bit smaller from days gone by. I was disappointed ti not find a souvenir tank top in my size. But no biggie. It was a wonderful time regardless. Reminiscing. Plenty of trinkets to choose from. And not to forget ask the fireworks you can dream of"
"If you're headed south or headed back up north. This little town of Pedro has everything and more. Have you ever seen in the movies those off the wall places people find while driving across the United States? This is one of them and I'm telling you it's a must. They have gift shops , restaurants, fireworks and all kinds of souvenirs that you can take home. There are restrooms on both sides of the street. There are indoor restrooms and even some outdoor ones. Cool statues to take pictures around or at. There are gas stations there. Trust me if you're traveling in that area and you see the sign that says Pedro's south of the border. Even if it takes you 20 minutes out of your route, stop in here. It's an awesome place to visit"
