Reviews of Little house on the Prairie
"The owners were super friendly, and respond promptly. They provided standard toiletries like shower soaps and toilet paper; they also had some useful kitchen appliances like a crockpot, coffee pot, and a hot plate! We (four adults) slept comfortably in the queen sized loft beds, and had plenty of room to lounge/ eat between the two couches. The mini fridge, surprisingly, fits a lot! We loaded our big yeti cooler with food and groceries and I was able to fit nearly all of it into the fridge (minus a bottle of ranch and coffee creamer). The hammocks were wonderfully cozy (they look brand new) and we enjoyed “hanging out” while sipping coffee or reading books. Checking in and checking out were super simple, also. They give you very specific instructions for arrival because gps doesn’t always work with the address, so we didn’t get lost! And for checking out, there wasn’t a laundry list of chores to do or any cleaning involved. Just to put the key back in the box and send a text! We just cleaned up after ourselves, of course, but it was nice not to feel like we were tasked with prepping for the next visitors. Tips for future residents: - if you’re visiting in the summer, and you like to sleep COLD, like thermostat-on-68-cold, then definitely be sure to bring a fan, as it is a bit warmer in the lofts than it is in the living space. - if you like a lot of pillows, bring your own! There are two on each bed, and two extra downstairs in the cabinet, but I’m a pillow princess and like at least three to myself (mine wouldn’t fit in the car, but I survived!) -bring paper towels! They provide an over abundance of rags and bath towels, so we made do with those, but if you plan on cooking here, definitely grab a roll or two of paper towels. - if you ever need anything (toilet paper, soap, etc) don’t hesitate to contact the owners! They’ll gladly restock items for you!"
"Great place to stay. Had everything we needed. Even left dog treats for our dog. Will definitely be staying again."
"The cabin was infested with stink bugs badly we saw two cockroaches while there (only stayed 3 nights) hammoks have mold in them, cabin is poorly constructed. The water feature couldnt even turn for 20 minutes because it leaked out all the water. When we checked in the carpet stairs had NOT been vaccumed i walked up them and my feet were covered in debris. Paid a 50 dollar deposit for my dog (that was reasonable for the extra cleaning associated with cleaning, i have a husky and she is a sheder) upon leaving i put all the towels in basket wiped all mud of the floor cleaned all dishes and put all except for a plate a pan a cup and silverware AWAY. Then we found out they charged us extra because the moss came off the bottom of the tree where my dogs leash was tied and because tgere was hair in the bed i slept in with my dog and there was there was dog poop in the yard (which i would've cleaned if they had mentioned that when we booked the cabin) my dog did mess up some landscaping rocks that got caught up in her leash. Now ive rented many cabins and they have never complained about my dog and i left this one the same as the rest. He falsly said my dog dug huge holes in the yard which is false she begin to dig a small indent and i stopped her i was with my dogs at all times while they were outside. They were always on a leash in my sight. When i called to ask about the extra ccharges the man yelled at me so loud my boyfriend could hear him (he was not on speaker). These people want to charge extra for any little thing and tge cabin was not that nice stayed in a much nicer place for the same price. Horrible. Customer service. The cabin is 10 steps from front to the back."
"Mold and mildew on the hammocks. Adjacent properties were overgrown with weeds. Bugs in the cabin. Busy and loud highway. Dirt and uneven road to cabin. The burners on the grill were rusted out. The owner said he did not care if he got a negative review. You decide. There are much nicer places for about the same price."
"We stayed 2 nights and loved the cabin, the fire pit, the water feature and the picnic/grill area! Being part of a car club, we required parking for 4 and you accommodated us well. Iris and Brian are wonderful hosts! This is a little piece of paradise near the Tail of the Dragon."
