The River's Call Inn - Barn House Vacation Rental

"Super cute rustic barn charm and great amenities to enjoy. We loved the access to the creek. Spent quite a bit of time there with our boys. The converted barn was decorated beautifully and had tons of charm and personality. We had 10 people, 5 adults and 5 kids between 3 and 16 years old stay for a week. It was definitely doable. Bathroom time had to be scheduled but plenty of beds with the sofa sleeper. And plenty of blankets, sheets and pillows. Our chief complaint was the AC. The second floor struggled to stay cool the entire week. We did have a very hot week for our trip, in the 90s most days and still warm at night. We cooked pizza our second night there which was a terrible mistake to run the ovens. We cooked the rest of our meals on the very nice gas grilled provided. Even had a side burner for pots. Having 10 people in the house, I am sure added to the difficulty of keeping the house comfortably cool. The upstairs had 1 window unit AC and a dehumidifier. The downstairs had 2 window unit ACs. They seemed to be on the older side and the vents were dirty. We cleaned the vents hoping that would help. The dehumidifier had to be emptied nearly twice a day. It is our understanding the owners plan to update the AC shortly to 2 minisplit systems, 1 up and 1 down. I think this would make a huge difference. We had box fans placed strategically throughout the house to make it tolerable. Kitchen was tight but doable. We cook most meals but nothing fancy. Space was adequate and functional. We ate in shifts or around the house as there was not a real dining table. The bar in the kitchen sat 3 and a small table in the livingroom sat 3. Beds, pillows and linen were very comfortable and cozy. This is extremely important to me as a terrible bed can ruin the trip. Property was appealing as well. Natural feel with lots of beautiful lilies and views of the water. We really enjoyed the fire pit. And loved the smores kit the host provided and had set out when we arrived. Kids enjoyed the goats and cats on the property. The porch was super cute with views of the creek. Wish we had slightly cooler Temps at night to enjoy it more. Nice, central locations to all the attractions we wanted to see like Sliding Rock and Chimney Rock State park among others. Only other issue was terrible internet. None of our phones worked at all in the area near the house, to be expected with the location. The house had wifi that allowed moderate use of our devices. But phone calls were pretty much impossible. There was a landline provided for emergency purposes."

"Wonderful place to create some beautiful memories. Everything and more than you could need, lovely owners, friendly animals and gorgeous sights. Very clean and perfectly decorated. We LOVED it."

"As an Asheville native coming home can almost be a dicey situation. Home doesn’t feel like home anymore. The River’s inn give’s you the rural feel with five star amenities such as a Hilton hotel. Listening to the river while sitting outside; around the fire pit brought on a nostalgic feel like no other. Next time I come to town I will stay here for the foreseeable future."
