"My family and I stayed rented the Leaping Fawn Lodge over the weekend last winter, I meant to post a review much sooner. The host was incredibly responsive and hospitable. She took time out of her day to speak with me over the phone to go over all of the questions I had about the place before our trip. We all had a great time and the views were incredible, everything was just as we needed. However, as stated in their description wifi is spotty so please be prepared if you do need the internet at all. Lastly, I wanted to personally say thank you as I left something at the house and the host was kind enough to ship it back to me. :)"
"The property is amazing, with so much mountain to explore. The house itself is also great. Amazing accommodations, sauna worked well, lots of fun in the basement game room. Great roads in the surrounding area and the drive out to Waynesville is perfectly fine."
"The place is stunning and has beautiful views. It's dated, but well maintained and has a lot of details taken care of: hot tub, pool table, kids playroom, etc. HOWEVER, our group (all of whom are frequent travelers and renters) has never encountered a least hospitable and more stressful experience. Some of the things that happened on this trip: we were told to turn on cameras that went out, drive out the garbage over 5 miles away because the day we were leaving, it wouldn't be picked up, and we were then accused of damage to property because.... dirty towels. Pictures attached. Apparently, we should have used different ones and these were too hard to clean after. We were also accused (without contacting us!) of breaking a door that was broken when we got there. A very stressful experience that overshadowed the entire vacation. There are so many other less expensive properties in the area. This kind of stress is just simply not worth it. If you have small kids, teenagers or anyone who isn't perfect in your group, beware."
"This was by far one of the best properties I have stayed at. We had a large group of friends go for the weekend and we easily fit in all the rooms the house has to offer. We were able to find some nearby hikes but mainly just enjoyed hanging out at the house itself as it has so much to offer. This house easily fit our entire group and the kitchen was stocked appropriately with pots and pans so that we were able to cook all of our meals there all weekend. I also can not say enough good things about the property manager Julie. She was extremely responsive and helpful leading up to the trip and was quick to respond to any questions we had. Overall, we had an amazing time and absolutely loved this property with its breathtaking views and we are hoping to now make this an annual trip!"
"Upon arriving to the lodge you’re greeted by a winding road into a quiet restful retreat. The facilities are more than adequate, it’s fanciful and fun yet restful and cozy. Bedrooms and bed comfort are A1, kitchen fully furnished minus you and a few groceries. There’s a wonderful grilling area. A hot tub, game room, play pool or cards. Close to Asheville. The owner is very responsive to your needs. I’d go again definitely."
