Reviews
"It's difficult to review this studio. There are many different instructors. On the one hand, they consistently win competitions and have some very experienced polers and that may be really important to you. Inconsistency is largely what prevents me from coming more often, and I've been a student for about a year with prior pole experience. If you're a little more experienced and looking to try new choreography or get one on one comp training, this would be a good spot. For beginners, or individuals with injuries/limited mobility, some of the instructors focus so much on getting through their curriculum that they don't realize when they've lost participation or included things that are not level appropriate. If you're interested in exploring how a move makes you feel and how to connect more with your body and incorporate detail work, especially for flow, Emma is a fantastic instructor and very engaging and she also seems pretty knowledgeable about body mechanics which I find frustratingly lacking in most pole instructors. Pole dancers don't absorb good training habits automatically, often we are obsessed with learning a new trick so it's important to have a teacher who progresses safely and gradually and offers regressions. Aimee is good for those more experienced with choreo but will try to get through a lot of material so be prepared. In general I think the studio could benefit from having more/training current instructors with evidence-based knowledge of safer body mechanics and plenty of options for strength-building regressions, and a more standardized way of starting class so students feel welcome and can get to know their instructors. It would also be fun if a contemporary class was added - not super common but I can dream!"
"This place is amazing and the instructors are very welcoming... The type of people that go here are really chill and you learn a lot. Definitely recommend. Edit: it's been a while so I'm updating. I've been going regularly for over two years now and after seeing these girls compete and win time and time again, after seeing the type of experts that teach the class (some with 10+ years experience), after seeing how each person gets attention from the instructor with an emphasis on precision, and after seeing other studios, I can honestly say this is probably one of the best studios in the country. Like if the Olympics had places that trained girls that were serious about competing, I could see this place being somewhere they could consistently come to become a total expert. I love this place. 11/10 would recommend."
"The instructors at pole play fitness are amazing and they have challenged me to achieve levels of fitness I didn't think possible! Not only am I stronger, but I have found new confidence in myself. The environment is also incredibly beautiful and the instructors/participants are wonderfully supportive. There are class options for sexy vixens, determined fitness enthusiasts, and those new to movement. If you are looking for an inspiring and fun way to improve your fitness, this studio is for you!"
"The instructors at Pole Play are truly interested in helping their students reach their pole fitness goals. The ladies who attend the classes are so supportive and positively encourage you to be your best and most elegantly beautiful. Also, you won't find a more beautiful atmosphere in which to practice pole art and fitness."
"I love Pole Play Fitness! The studio is easily the most beautiful in Raleigh with tall poles, open floor, and great lighting. As soon as you walk in, you'll feel at home and relaxed. Everyone is really nice too, and very helpful. If you want to start pole dancing, I highly recommend this studio! Every class is taught in a safe, beautiful, and fun environment. There is also a huge changing room that you can put your stuff in and hang up your coat."
