"Completely new to aerial, started this year - I’ve taken several classes here over the past few months, and all have been wonderful with friendly, welcoming, and encouraging teachers. Here are some details about each one: Strength & Flexibility - I started this while doing physical therapy for an injury, and also just having no physical strength after not leaving my desk enough, and Mena was incredible at meeting me where I was, helping me pinpoint certain muscle groups to exercise, and giving me alternative or additional exercises to work on my specific issues. If you let her know what you’re struggling with and are vocal about what you’re experiencing, she can often help! I’m through nearly a year of weekly classes now, and much stronger and more flexible already! Aerial Yoga - Several fantastic teachers offer different things depending on what you’re looking for. Caitlin’s Sunday classes are a good mix of gentle and challenging, and she always gives options for the harder or easier versions of poses depending on how you feel that day. Shannon’s class is challenging and peaceful, and will help you with your strength. Colleen offers a variety of options, and now I usually take her Level 2 class, which is a perfect step up if you’ve been doing it for a while or need an extra challenge. All the teachers are excellent at guiding you through each pose or move. Intro to Lyra - Natalia starts with a killer warmup that really helps with conditioning to get you ready to use the aerial hoop. I felt I was not strong enough to do much when I first came in, but she showed us several moves that were fun and made me want to come back. You’ll definitely get stronger doing this class, but I was really starting from zero, so I’m coming back later once I’m stronger. Intro to Aerial Fabrics - Mena showed me that even if I’m still working on my strength, there’s a lot I can do in aerial silks and sling. This is the perfect drop-in class to keep working on strength while also having a lot of fun. Mena’s great at explaining each move and helping where I struggle. Open Level Aerial Dance/Aerial Sling - Colleen brings a lot of fun ideas and sequences to this class. As a beginner, once I got there, I realized that it would have been better for me to start with something more like Intro to Aerial Fabric to get the basics first, but I was still able to start learning in the moment. Colleen usually gives enough for the newer students to start working with something and the more advanced students to really fly, which seems like a tough balance to strike! It’s been a great way to get stronger and dive into routines, and now I’m getting ready to sign up for my third 6-week session!"
"I have had so many disappointing experiences with this business. It's awful. I have registered my child for Track Out camps over the past few years, and they always canceled on us at noon the day before the camp. Always by email on SUNDAY at noon. I even emailed the week before to confirm the camp was going forward, but still, they canceled on the Sunday of the camp week. They always refund our fee, but as a 2 working parent family, we need stability in the places we book for her activities. We always have to scramble and our child is devastated. The sad part my daughter loves this camp. The 2 times we were allowed to attend this camp she had an inspiring time. The owner is the problem. Not the staff. Honestly, the pursuit of profit for this business is gross. I know that small business life is hard but they put profit above customers. They always cancel the camp when it's only 1 kid. I understand that isn't going to be a profitable camp but I booked the camp at least a month+ in advance. There is plenty of time for them to plan It's so disappointing. It's infuriating. Avoid this Track Out"
"We had a fabulous experience tonight in the Intro to Arial arts class. The instructor was great - very encouraging. My teen was introduced to 5 different apparatuses (apparati?). She's kind of timid, but the small class size and encouraging coaching was 5 stars. She wants to go back again. It was $25 for this introductory class - which was totally worth it."
"On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, Cirque de Vol is grapes -- sweet and fun. I stopped in to Cirque de Vol while traveling, and I was able to do a drop-in class for their first week of a session. While the space seems well-loved, the rigging appeared to be safe, and I enjoyed the warm-up sequence. Parking was a nightmare as a non-local (I did do the process as prompted by the signs for paying for parketing), and I ended up getting a $125 fine (which has now been waived). Do your research beforehand for parking!"
"I’ve been interested in taking aerial fabric classes for many years so I’m happy to have found this studio. Located in downtown Raleigh it’s a fairly large studio and they offer many different types of classes (silks, slings, Lyra, trapeze, and others). The instructors I’ve met so far have all been very kind and knowledgeable so I would recommend signing up for some drop in classes if you’re interested."
