"Went there for a first time class just to try out the atmosphere, & the reformer class was a good time. Afterwards, I checked out the other locations throughout the week and not to my surprise the lack of diversity amongst employees is evident. I'm sure this is how the company prefers it but if you'd like to increase membership activity and promote overall health it's important to be a reflection of that. In case you haven't noticed the world is adapting to inclusion, you all should do the same. Until that changes, I think we'll look into opening up our own studio so that there is diversity amongst employees and members."
"I joined club Pilates as a way to help functionally heal chronic hip bursitis—and it’s helped tremendously. The staff and instructors are always supportive and energetic."
"It's not just exercise it's a lifestyle! A lifestyle you MUST experience if you haven't already! Club pilates is the best way to start that! They have a free trial class to get you started. I am hooked. Definitely recommend!!"
"I never imagined doing pilates. Like most guys, I had misperceptions about pilates and didn’t think it was for me. Then, came my injuries. I used to run to win races, but now, I just wanted to be able to make it through training and race day without getting hurt. I also wanted to run one ultra. I felt that window was closing because of IT band issues, SI joint problems, and the list goes on. After plateauing in training for my December ultra race, I decided to be more open-minded about my options. I had 11 weeks until race day. Something had to change. And so, I met with Jon, co-owner of Club Pilates in West Cary. He was empathetic, but also honest about my options. He believed that pilates would be perfect for me, but I should attend classes regularly to see the best results. The first few classes were an adventure! I didn’t have good form and I was trying to activate muscles that hadn’t been used in years. I also had a weak core. However, my instructors encouraged me along. They pushed me to be my best but were patient and positive. A little after one month, I started seeing tangible results. I could run longer without fatigue, and equally important, I would wake up the next day without any lingering effects from training. By the time race day came along, I felt fresh and ready to run…which was especially important given the race conditions! The trail race course conditions in Spartanburg were hazardous from a continuous downpour of rain, but for the first time in years, I had the physical strength and fitness to push through. If it wasn’t for Club Pilates and help from Jaime, Iduma, and Christy, I wouldn’t have been able to run those 27.9 miles. However, you don’t have to run an ultra to benefit from pilates. Most who attend seem to be doing so with the straight-forward goal of improving their quality of living – more flexibility, less pain, and feeling better. Regardless of personal goals, people are welcoming. There’s diversity in each session – people of all ages and body types. That made me feel at home when I attended my first class, not sure of what to expect or how I would do! Club Pilates has been a game changer for me. If you’re reading this and want to feel better, physically and mentally, I encourage you to give Club Pilates a shot. Sincerely, Ray"
