"We recently visited Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for a trial class for our son. Initially, the facility didn't quite meet our expectations, but we were open-minded about the program's potential benefits. Eager to give it a fair chance, we contacted them to inquire about enrollment packages. The gym responded promptly with a few options, which seemed promising. However, our initial optimism was short-lived. When we replied to their message asking for more details, our communication was met with unexpected silence. It was surprising and disappointing that our further inquiries were completely ignored. This lack of engagement made us feel undervalued as potential clients. Effective and consistent communication is a cornerstone of customer service, especially in a field as interactive as martial arts training. Unfortunately, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu did not meet these basic expectations in our experience. We were genuinely interested in enrolling our son and were willing to overlook our first impressions of the facility, but the disregard for our follow-up questions has led us to reconsider. It's unfortunate, as we were initially inclined to become part of the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu community. However, the lack of response has raised concerns about their commitment to new members. We are now exploring other options that might offer a more engaging and responsive environment."

The kids instructors really help and care about helping the kids learn how to defend themselves, and the adult instructors do a great job teaching all levels of students - beginners to advances. "I joined this gym after a single trial class. I’d long wanted to get into BJJ but the locations around here were a hike and I’ve got three small children. "I’m likely one of the oldest in the region (at 72) to ever embark on a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) journey but feel so blessed to have the Royce Gracie school of Cary almost in my backyard. I practiced karate many decades ago in my youth and was somewhat proficient. After just 7 months I can see how superior BJJ is as a martial art. I believe it is tremendously valuable for both men and women of all ages but especially so for women and guys like me who can no longer compete strength-wise with younger men. "I recently joined the gym for CrossFit (Panther Creek CrossFit), and found out that they offer Jiu jitsu and practical self-defense training in the evenings after the CrossFit classes. The instruction is professional and the material is very practical. The small class size is perfect to receive a good amount of attention from the Instructor. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is interested in self-defense and/or jiu jitsu. The world is consistently becoming more hostile and you never know if you could end up in bad situation. This is an invaluable skill to have!"
