"I just received the most outstanding level of customer from the Manager Steven today. It was a proactive call on his part to get a quick turnaround on a club repair for my son. My son has HS try-outs next week and Steven went above and beyond to get my son the club repaired so he could have it for try-outs. Can't thank him enough and he definitely gained a customer for life."
"Just lazy or inexperienced, staff who have little desire to build the company. I went in ready to spend $1k on a driver and decided to take my $ somewhere else after their golf tech tried to push me off on a brand new kid who knows little about golf equipment. I would not recommend this place in CLT to anyone. I got my clubs from the Pineville location and they were great. Employees at the CLT location make it clear that they hate their job. No, this was not my visit, it was just my last."
"I was not going to leave a review but the more I looked the worse it got. I needed a new shaft for my driver and the only place open this holiday weekend was GG which was an hour drive from me. I got to the store was shown three shafts that should be “comparable” to my current shaft and then picked out a grip. Was told it would be done the following day (Sunday). When I got home I checked my receipt and realized I was charged for two grip installations and not a grip which made me pay $6 more than I should have, not a big deal its just $6 I’ll let it go. Called the store Sunday at 12 was told the driver was finished, I drove down to the store to find out the driver had not been touched since I left Saturday, the gentleman that I spoke to on the phone telling me it was done was very polite and apologized for the miscommunication and he would make sure they would have it done in an hour, not a big deal again as things happen. When he told the guy behind the counter to get it done asap he didnt not seem very thrilled at all, when the driver was finished I was instructed to leave it grip down until the next day and it should be fine. The next day when I removed the duct tape I noticed that chips of paint were taken out of the top of my driver as if they were not careful with their tools, the grip was not aligned correctly, the shaft was 1.25” smaller than my last shaft and they left something in my old driver,it sounds like its a child’s rattle toy and they stripped the screw on the bottom of the driver. 4hrs total of driving, $6 over charged and I am left with a damaged driver head…… the only good thing is that my driver head did not go flying off when I played monday…. Poor workmanship all the way around and no excuses can be made for this type of work. I doubt ill even get a response from this review."
"Let me start off by saying I’m new to the sport. Maybe I’m wrong in all of this so I wanted to add that little disclaimer. I started lessons with GOLFTEC in Huntersville (which is amazing btw) on a set of old Taylor made burner 2.0s that were previously cut down which I am too tall for. One of the recommendations was to get a set of clubs that would be more for me. I walked into golf galaxy with the expectation to schedule a fitting, learn about clubs and buy everything I needed to start my next chapter in the world of golf. What a mistake. I was standing in the club section looking over clubs, had a few questions, was waiting for someone to help when I decided I would just ask. The gentleman who helped me said they could do a “fitting” right then and there. My first question was asking about TaylorMade clubs. My buddy let me hit his new driver, I was shooting their irons, I have a history with them and they seemed to be pretty popular. The guy helping me said you don’t want taylormade, they are trash and lead times are months on clubs. I thought that was interesting because I’ve seen a full shelf of TM clubs on display. The gentleman grabbed a few sets of irons l, didn’t really explain the differences and had me hit 3-6 balls of the 3 brands he grabbed. I ended up settling on the Ping G430 irons, driver, and hybrid + a new bag. I feel like anything I learned with the clubs he gave me was from google searches that I would do because he really wasn’t giving me much information. It’s whatever but this is where I get pretty upset. After checking out I left and the next day I had another lesson, quickly finding out my grips were too small (plus the grips that came with the clubs were pretty stiff) I went back to GG and found some grips I liked. The gentleman working behind the club repair counter was very nice, took my old grips off and actually showed me where under the grip the club was pinched and broke like someone squeezed it with pliers or something. He said sometimes we get this from the factory but I’ll throw a new shaft on there. He proceeded to grab a manager who then told me this is a warranty problem with ping and it’s not their problem. They opened an RMA and I need to ship my club to ping and they will ship me a new one. In 2-3 weeks I’m sorry but as a small business owner I feel like this is all been horrible customer service and I’ll find another place to buy my golf equipment."
"I don't typically write reviews but I was excited to share my experience at Golf Galaxy Charlotte. I was greeted right away by very friendly staff when I showed up for my club fitting appointment. I'm not an avid golfer, but I always loved playing when I had the chance to go with friends or family who enjoy the sport. I wanted to start doing it more, so I chose to spend $250 for a full bag fitting. Nick Lover was fantastic, giving me great pointers and advice that showed immediate positive results to my swing. I don't own a set of clubs and I intended to walk away with a set that day. But because I was connecting so well, Nick refunded my $250 club fitting fee and just gave me specs to go and shop myself. Simply so I could just get out there and play. It made me feel like they truly cared about putting me in the best position to play well and have fun instead of making a sale. I'd recommend this place for beginners and experts alike."
