Reviews of Enso Elite Gymnastics
"I am not one that normally writes reviews. However reading some of these reviews I am compelled that I have to write out our experience at Enso. My daughter started at Enso at 2.5 years old in a preschool class. She had an amazing experience being taught by, yes, a teenager. Many of the reviews reference the rec coaches and how young they are. This is mostly because these coaches are either recently retired high level gymnasts from Enso or currently competing high level gymnasts. Based on our experience I love this model. These atheltes know these skills well, they are young and keep it fun for the girls, and it gives them an opportunity for a job. The coach that we had for most of my daughter's preschool years prepared her very well. We stayed with her and developed a great relationship. She got to know my daughter and she thrived because of it. Once my daughter turned 5 we moved up to beginners gymnastics. At this point we did try out another gym. And this is what I will tell you. First, if you want a gym where your child is treated as a robot by all means go try some other gyms. Also when you talk about being able to view your child in everything they do. Trust me on this, Enso is extremely easy and open for viewing. Yes if the video isn't on the trampoline cannot be viewed easily. But it is in the wide open with many people back there and huge windows. This is not like children behind closed doors....let's not be dramatic. I have been in other gyms that have a tiny viewing window and no chairs. I don't know what says "We don't want you to stay and watch" more than that. Now when we tried another gym, nothing says "We care" more than the owner of Enso calling me to check on us!! She was so very sweet and wanted to know our concerns. That right there speaks volume about how Enso cares about every kid that walks through there doors. My daughter's next step was to join the hot shot class at Enso. That is where she really started to show how much she was IN for this gymnastics thing. And this is when I as a mom really started to see how this place was turning into much more of a family and not just a gym. The gym is family owned and they truly care. I see the owners and head coaches constantly stepping away to attend to any issue that arises. I see them walking littles to class who are nervous. The coaches that taught my daughter hot shots worked wonders and within about 8 months she was ready to move up to competition team. I had tears in my eyes because they had made such an amazing impact on my child. My child has now been on competition team for 2.5 years and in her 2nd season of competing. I am more than confident to say this is the ONLY gym I would have my daughter at. Where they care far more about the individual child and their needs and much more about their mental and physical health and not just pushing them for the sport. Enso has truly become our home away from home. And they have become family and I am so thankful for that girl. Having a positive atmosphere like this is such a blessing. Side note- She has had 2 birthday parties at Enso at 3 and 7. They are absolutely awesome for any age. They do so much of the work for you. So easy for the parents and all the kids of any age have fun. Honestly no brainer. My kid would probably have her birthday here every year. :)"
"Celebrated my daughters birthday for the second time at Enso’s. Both times we had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and tried to anticipate every need we could possibly have. The coaches were great with the kids and very patient. The facility was clean and organized. Tom, the owner, gave exceptional customer service. 5 star experience!"
"I signed my kids up 2 months ago and we already cancelled the membership. This is a nice facility, but I was very disappointed in the chaos. The classes are taught by teenage kids with little supervision or direction. Nobody was wearing a "coach" shirt, so you could never tell who was actually in charge of the class. My kids are little (4 & 6) and have never done gymnastics or parkour before. My son got hurt on the trampoline (which I wasn't able to see because the trampoline is on the backside of the building and there's one small TV to view with a camera) and I wasn't comfortable with my 4 year old daughter not being properly coached. Nice facility, but there was A LOT of chaos and nobody in charge."
"We are in our 2nd month as a member. My child is 6. I will say it seems to be a bit of organized chaos here. The teacher is a teenager at best. There doesn't seem to be any clear instructions. For the floor they just do cartwheels and attempt to do handstands. They walk across the beam and kick a leg up. While the teenager is 'coaching' one child, the others are running amok. The only thing my child so far has only enjoyed the trampoline. But, I can spend a lot less to go to urban air etc, for her to jump on a trampoline. The other concern for me, is the area where the trampoline is located is behind a huge wall with no parental visibility. There are cameras, but at least 4 occasions those cameras were not on. That is quite concerning. I want to have visibility on my child, esp given the history of this sport. At this point, I am undecided if we will stay. I just had an expectation that she would learn fundamentals, and it appears that a teenager is just sort of chaperoning them as they do a few things. If things improve, I am happy to change the rating."
"My daughters (age 5 and 6) just tried Enso for the first time as a trial run. I have to say, for 90$ a month, it seems to me that they don’t have appropriate teachers or man power to effectively help young kids (tumbling 1 (5+) class). First, they literally stayed in one small area for 50 minutes. All floor. No bar or other area was used. Then let them “free” play for less than 7 minutes. (Both my kids left in tears because they didn’t get a chance to try the trampoline during free time, not sure what happened there.) It Just felt like the class itself wasn’t thought out, not enough teachers helping. One “teacher” in a red shirt was literally just standing around barely helping or interacting with the young kids. What is the experience of these teachers? Why wasn’t it explained at all? I don’t understand why they would hire someone who wasn’t helping? One of my daughters was doing a backbend from the floor, putting a lot of pressure on her neck that made me uncomfortable and they weren’t guiding her at all. There was inconsistent spotting for forward rolls or back bends. I think they saw this as an issue because I think the manager (maybe owner) joined the class trying to give more instruction and support. Overall, If you are charging 90+ a month I would just expect more. Makes me sad because I loved gymnastics as a kid but I just wasn’t impressed and my girls said they don’t want to come back. I really struggled whether or not I should write this but after some contemplation I think it’s hopefully helpful for them to hear my perspective."
