"We first saw Jon Walker Stables for a our daughter's 7th birthday party in May 2017, and it was a blast! The kids all had a great time, EVERYONE was able to ride the horses in the indoor ring and experience the fun of riding. A few kids even signed up for lessons at the party. When we discussed signing our daughter up for further lessons early this year, we did look at other options in the area, but we thought Jon Walker was the best option. Nothing wrong with the other stables, that all ended up being neighbors, but we liked the atmosphere at Jon Walker and the communication and scheduling better. The prices aren't outrageous, but I think Jon Walker is a great value for the experience and teaching you are getting. Caroline is a very upfront and honest instructor, she was very willing to discuss what the initial lessons would entail and the process of lessons, learning, and experience built upon. She was also great about being practical on the front of what would be expected if we decided to try competition riding down the road, and that was great knowledge to help decide how far into riding we want to go and what would be expected of our daughter if she wanted to do that. Having never ridden a horse, this was all new to me, and I'm glad that I was able to have this discussion up front, no surprises down the road. Taylor is an amazing teacher for the newer riders, she has amazing patience and really guides the riders to learn the terms and get comfortable working with the horses. My daughter loves to interact with her, she's not upset when given corrections on her riding, it's all very professional and supportive. She even fell off the horse one day, but bounced right up, and at the end said it was her favorite day! It's been awesome watching my daughter learn responsibility at the stable, helping to put the gear on and off the horses, building her confidence, learning it's a sport and takes control. We've had nothing but good experiences with Jon Walker Stables, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to start their kid in riding or look for lessons as an adult."

"The staff is amazingly knowledgeable and friendly. They take a true holistic approach with teaching not just riding skills, but also teaching the fundamentals of horses and safety. The staff promotes healthy self-esteem and self-confidence with their riders. The trainers truly care about the riders and put an emphasis on ensuring all riders are paired with a horse of their skill level so that the riders walk away feeling good about themselves and more confident with each ride.
