"I had been looking to try BJJ for a while. I looked at the websites of some of the gyms in the area and was immediately drawn to Checkmat. Seeing videos of Master Leo competing at the highest levels showed me he was the real deal. Since my first class he has made me feel welcome. The training partners there are great and always willing to help out where they can. It has become a second home for me and I love going to class and open mat. I have recently signed up my son for lessons and he loves it. Master Leo and Christy are fantastic with the kids and the kids love them. I would never have imagined competing in BJJ but with all of the support and encouragement I have received, I gave it a shot. It was the second best BJJ decision I made after joining this gym!
