About Us
Karate Shorin is a martial arts institution located at 182 Bradley Branch Road in Arden, North Carolina. We specialize in teaching traditional Okinawan Karate, focusing on the practice of Kata to preserve the techniques and movements of this ancient art. In addition, we also offer instruction in Kobudo, the weapons arts of the Ryukyu Kingdom, which have practical value in today's world.
Our classes are suitable for all ages, with children's classes starting at age 6 and taught separately from adults. We place a strong emphasis on character development, teaching respect, self-confidence, self-discipline, and responsibility, along with improving motor skills, balance, and physical fitness. Children are also taught effective self-defense techniques and how to avoid dangerous situations.
