"We adopted my little buddy back in July. He is absolutely the sweetest and best puppy ever. The shelter employees were really great during the adoption process and were happy to hear updates when we went back to pick up the neuter voucher. He's been neutered now and is recovering nicely. Artemis says thanks for taking care of him until his ride showed up and he hopes all the other dogs find their people too."
"This place was very nice and tons of dogs and cats that need help. People were very sweet and helpful. Thank you so much! We found our new best friend here!!"
"I’ve called about a stray dog. However they never showed up called the place and they had me on hold for over 30 minutes. This stray would not leave my front porch and I have dogs of my own. I had no idea if the dog had any type disease and I have two indoor dog. I expressed how important I needed this dog picked up because my two dogs are indoor dogs and they have to go out thru my porch to go use the bathroom. They claimed “they didn’t have any pens available” and also “this is the only pound you can call for this county” I expressed how unfortunately at that moment I didn’t care what they done to the dog because it would not even allow my dogs to go out because it would non stop barking and again I didn’t know if the dog had anything. They hung the phone up on me as I was on hold. I called back to advise i was left on hold for over 30 minutes then hung up on. The lady had an attitude as I’m just trying to get the dog help and removed from my porch where it refuses to leave. It became very annoying because again I have two indoor dog whom HAVE TO GO OUT TO USE THE BATHROOM. I could not afford another dog. Because again this dog is a stray and would need a lot of medical treatment. I’ve called as soon as they opened and they took my information. Now I would be wrong if I would have to put the dog down myself because the dog pound is choosing not to do their jobs and help these strays. I would advise not even to depend on calling for a stray pickup because they will never call you and they will never come out to help."
"I have to say ,when I visited the animal shelter a few days ago I was very impressed. It was very clean, the help there were so kind to us. They were so willing to help you anyway they could. I finally decided to bring in some new affirms to the family! Precious and her 4 babies. They are settling in nicely really enjoying their freedom. Thank you all for your help! Also thank you Sam Freeman!"
"Every animal there is covered in fleas, is guaranteed to have a raging case of kennel cough, and will absolutely have multiple kinds of worms. That’s the bad. Now for the good: the staff is friendly, helpful, and genuinely cares for the animals in their care, and wants nothing more than to care for them as best as they can, and to help each and every one of them find a forever home. The staff is doing absolutely the best they can with extremely limited funds and a facility apparently designed to spread diseases and fleas among it’s animal guests as quickly and thoroughly as possible. The staff is a solid 5; the facility is a 2.5 at best. The recent change in management to the sheriff’s department may be just what this facility needs to get it’s act together, and make desperately needed improvements. We recently adopted a puppy from there, and he has a severe flea infestation, a terrible case of kennel cough, and multiple kinds of worms - but we have zero regrets adopting him in that state, and would adopt more from that shelter if we could."
