WakeMed Children's - Pediatric Gastroenterology

"This place is very unprofessional and I didn’t even get to make it to my appointment. My 2 month old baby has been having stomach issues so i make an appointment here; i get a call the day before my appointment, 30 minutes before closing time that my appointment is canceled because my child has Medicaid and he needs a referral since he has Medicaid and to call back in 30 minutes since she is about to leave. Mind you my child also has United healthcare. I didn’t get to listen to the voicemail until a while after. First of all you do not call a patient 30 minutes before yall close to tell them something about their appointment let alone that you are canceling it! You need to give patients a notice hours before you cancel an appointment about something that could have been fixed. I took off work for this appointment now my child is in pain until I can get another appointment. Very unprofessional!"

"They are the best. The staff is amazing. So compassionate. Dr Winberry is the most compassionate doctor. He has all the time in the world for you when you have an appointment. He listens and let's you have an input on treatment. He h is working really hard to help our daughter. Very impressed with him following up with how she is doing. Carol Medlin has been very helpful in our course of treatment. Can't say enough about how great they are."

"I can relate to the previous review completely. My son's appointment was scheduled at the Raleigh gastro office and when we got there, the receptionist told us that our appointment was scheduled for this day and time but at the Apex office. The call center person screwed up really bad and now we lost our appointment and they rescheduled it a month from now, when my son is having serious issues. No one even offered an apology and no one has been held responsible. This is pretty pathetic when these days they can't even schedule your appointment right. You would think Wakemed can do better than that, it appears to be the opposite. Extremely disappointed."
