WakeMed Children's - Pediatric Primary Care

"I called on 11/6/2023 to establish my daughter as a new patient. The receptionist said she needed to find my daughter in Cary pm pediatrics before she tells me if they have appointments available in December. However, I wanted to know if they had appointments available in December before I called my insurance and switched to that doctors office. She refused to even let me get that statement out and I kept saying, ma’am ma’am, ma’am, in order to get that statement out. She then hung up the phone on me then I had to call back and wait on hold to speak to somebody and somebody else gave me the same results that I wanted in like one minute. Aweful receptionist!"

"Dr. Alavian is wonderful. She takes her time with me and my newborn. As a first time mom I love how confident she is and how she answers all my many questions. She treats my baby so well and the nurses are also fantastic. Everyone is very kind and knowledgeable."

"my baby was born in wakemed north and since then I have preferred to go to this location since my baby was born. They are very kind to us and my baby's pediatrician is very sweet. The only thing that I think someone should keep in mind is to always check if the insurance is accepted to avoid an unexpected bill!"

"The staff is so incompetent and not knowledgeable especially when it comes to how much people will owe. I went in there after going there for almost 4 years for my daughter. They told me my insurance was no longer in network. Which they could have called me prior to the appointment so I didn’t have to waste my time!!! I asked how much it would be and they told me 239. I said ok well I’m already here and my daughter needs to be seen. I got a bill for over $500. Spoke with customer service and they said they would review it and adjust it accordingly based on the notes. My bill went down to 399. I called customer service again and they said there’s nothing else we can do. It can’t be adjusted anymore. This is ridiculous!!! Get your staff to actually give accurate and correct information!! I will no longer been seen at any other wakemed facility again. Not to mention I had to wait an extremely long amount of time to be seen. And the doctor was late so had to wait even longer. My daughter was traumatized and screaming by the end of her visit. They made no effort to calm her down or make the situation better."
