"The Jeff Gordon Levine Children’s Specialty Center is a great place to take children with complex medical needs. We are treated as partners in solving our challenges!"
"Dr.chen is awesome. She is so good with children! Love her"
"Dr Jose listens to us, knows us and our case individually....she goes above & beyond to help make my child better and to reassure me! She's always quick to respond to messages and is very thorough in her explanations. We rarely ever have to wait long. The whole office staff are wonderful. Very engaging & friendly!"
"Legally recognized children should not default to having to give permission for their parents to know what their healthcare results are. The DEFAULT should be to letting parents know all of the details of their child’s health. The better method would be to inform and enable the children 13-18 that they CAN opt to have their health care made private from parents. That rule/ law, whatever it is classified as was a MAJOR inconvenience when I was unavailable for my child’s doctor’s call on a Friday afternoon with test results. My son had no way to get access on his own, and, as his parent whom he wanted to have all the details and relay them to him, my son had NO MEANS of giving me permission. The system is backwards!! We understand that SOME children 13-18 may want and need to keep their healthcare Information private from parents, but we do not believe it is a majority by any measure. The structure needs to be fixed such that the default mode is that parents have access. Forcing a sick child to jump through the hoops of obtaining an access code, setting up and account, and granting permission to their parents is far too much to put on a child. Especially one who is very sick and VERY scared. The whole process added more frustration to my child’s existing frustration of not knowing why he is sick!"
"I was very taken back at the way Dr. Josie corrected me continually throughout the appointment and even argued with me at one point. What’s worse is that my children noticed, and asked me why she acted like that, once we left the appointment. There is such thing as a mother’s intuition, her gut feeling, and instincts. When you spend 24-7 with your child and try to express what’s happening at home, it doesn’t feel good when the physician acts as if they know your child better. In the past we have seen Dr. Summers and she has always been PHENOMENAL, I highly recommend her care!! We only got an appointment with Dr. Josie to try to get in sooner due to my child’s level of pain and I unfortunately greatly regret my decision and will be starting over as a new patient with Dr. Summers."
