"The Occupational Therapy Assistant program provides engaged hands-on learning experiences within the classroom and out at community sites which is what sets us apart. We work with small groups of students at the Wings of Eagles Therapeutic Horse Back Riding Ranch with both adults and children; Dixon Preschool Academy with children ages birth to six years old; Hinds Feet Farm for the Traumatic Brain injured in the day treatment as well as residential program; Coltrane Adult Day Care with adults from 18 years up to 80 plus years; and Davidson Behavioral Health. Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) students work alongside OTA faculty who have an expertise within the community site where they are working, and the community partnerships have been in place for 14 to 20 years. These experiences allow our students to become highly skilled practitioners with a wide range of experiences across the lifespan. Our graduates are ready to serve others with confidence and compassion."
"I am a current OTA student here, and the education I have gotten so far has been wonderful, especially with how hands-on it has been (even in a virtual setting)! Most of the staff here care about the students and are very helpful (or at least from my experience). I would say this is one of the best schools for OT in NC :)"
"My education here was a joke! All they care about is the nursing students. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else. Overpriced BS!"
"Great experience from the front desk with Beth to the OT department with Nancy and Christa. Very helpful and great communication throughout!"
"BEWARE, this college is unorganized and very hard to deal with. People do not answer the phone and calls are not returned. My daughter had a terrible experience with communication with this college. When she dropped a class, evidently no record was made of it. She had an exit interview and everything, but for some reason, they can not find her paperwork. We had no clue until she went to send her transcripts to another college and they did not get there. When she inquired about it(after trying to call for 2 days) they said she could not have them until she paid her outstanding bill. NEVER did we get any notification of any outstanding bill at this college. When my daughter met with the Dean, she was rude and short. She would not let my daughter see any of the supposed correspondence that had been sent to her. Also, supposedly it had been turned over to collections and they were contacting her. Until my daughter met with the Dean, not one thing had been mailed to my residence, which is the address that they supposedly had. Unfortunately, my daughter did a lot of communication verbally at the college and the Dean she was dealing with then is now gone. Lesson learned, everything in writing. In short, in order to get moving forward we had to pay the full amount for a class she attended once. Shame on this college for their disorganization."
