"Oh my gosh! Do you have time to hear my experience? First, after 4 months of trying to get them to call me they said they wouldn’t take a disability case. Guess what, I have BCBS. I never delt with such incompetent people. They need to close up shop- can you imagine they are supposed to help people? By all means, don’t go."
"If I could give them zero stars I would! I tried calling to get my daughter an appointment with no answer. Left a voicemail and received a text later that day that they tried to call me (No they didn’t) I had to call again with no answer. Left a message, got a call the next day that I needed to email them paperwork which I done and never heard a word from them. No one answers the phone, their phone message is ridiculously long and no one will call you to make an appointment!"
"So the office manager Sonya, was so concerned that I mentioned her name in the below review called me within 2 hours of me putting it up. This woman tried calling from the Porters neck office number and when I saw who it was I didn't answer, so she has the gall to call me from a different # probably a cell. Instead of saying I'm sorry, and being I was there for counseling are you OK..... No all she wants to do is defend herself, stating I don't know what I could have done. On 2 separate occasion's we had interactions that were enough to upset me , but this uncaring ...... person doesn't care about the patients she only cares that I was wasting her time asking for things like a copy of my records Originally posted @ 12pm 07/21/2023 Unprofessional staff, Uncaring office manager, "Sonya" beware of her, way too many reminders, If I set an appt. I know when it is I don't need repeated texts emails and phone calls. The policies are completely ridiculous and as long as you have $$$ or valid insurance is all they care about, getting paid The doctor and therapist there were awesome, I just wish I could see them at a different business"
"If I could give them ZERO stars I would. The list of issues with Porters Neck Counseling is quite long but not worth the time to list them all out. My therapist was AWESOME but left here to pursue other options for themselves. The UNPROFESSIONAL manner in which the office staff handled that was truly unbelievable and I would never EVER recommend anyone seeking help with their mental health to call this office. It was hard enough to seek help but their unprofessionalism made it even more difficult for me to continue to want to try. Absolutely shameful behavior."
"Let me start by saying that I loved my therapist... I just wish she was somewhere else than this place. Three times before I even had a chance to sit in the theraists chair the office staff screwed up, didn't care and did not try to fix the problem. From unilaterally canceling my first appointment just to give it to someone else and making me wait 3 additional weeks, to telling me that I didn't fill out all of the paperwork that they sent electronically and I returned electronically, to CHARGING MY CREDIT CARD me a day BEFORE my appointment and not telling me in advance that the therapist I was seeing is not in my insurance network (when everyone else IN the practice takes my insurance) STRIKE THREE!!! On top of it all, the office manager seem not to care in the slightest, and was not at all concerned. She acted completely nonchalant, as if my business wasn't at all important. I was charged over FOUR times what I was anticipating. Needless to say I will not return. They had my Insurance and payment information for almost a month. Wouldn't you think, logically, that they would let me know about the person I'm going to see not being in my network? A little bit of professional courtesy would have gone a long way. It is a shame because I believe that the therapist is amazing. Mental health care is a sensitive subject to begin with. As a patient, we need to know that the people who are supposed to be taking care of us, are actually taking care of us. In this case, that didn't happen. Not even close."
