Reviews of Turning Point Family Care
"This place is really bad. I went there for several years but it didn't help much. I felt like I wasn't getting my needs met. I was looking for a therapist to help deal with child trauma. Instead, it felt like almost all the therapists didn't want to acknowledge it and developed a different treatment plan. One therapist tried to pressure me to take meds although I didn't need them. This is why I'm frustrated with therapists."
"I was directed to this clinic while in a state of desperation. I needed an appointment with a psychiatrist to leave the Holly Hills Outpatient Program and I knew my friend's father had been getting his medication from here. All the staff were lovely. The best thing that came out of this place was the relationship with my therapist, who I continued seeing once she moved to another clinic. The receptionists tried their best but it always seemed like they were never given the information needed to answer questions. I asked them multiple times if I had a balance to pay off in my account and from what they were told, I did not. I found it weird but I assumed insurance was just doing it's job. I stopped getting therapy and medicine from here in September of 2018. It's now March of 2019, and I just received a bill for all my sessions. I wish this place was good, but all I can say is that it was better than Holly Hills; a place that misdiagnosed me through a psychiatrist that refused to listen to me."
"I gave them 2 stars because they at least they see my family member at his appointments. But thats about it. There is always an issue with the medication. They say theyve sent them to the pharmacy and then we call the pharmacy to get them filled and they only have a few of them. This is a constant monthly problem. And when we call turning point to get that medicine sent over NO ONE answers. NO ONE calls back. We are talking about patients who NEED their medication to function on a day to day basis and it just isnt a priority. Still waiting on a callback but i wont hold my breath."
"There is always a problem with these people. My son therapist is very good but she left and we are still with her at her new location. But his meds manager is still there. They don't follow through. The pharmacy order a refill and it has been four days and they haven't done it and they know my son cannot be without his medication. They scheduled him then they call to cancel. They said they had a new system that they will call back to schedule him and they never did. I worry for my sons health but they obviously don't. So unprofessional!"
"If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Love the nurse practitioner that I see and the therapist as well. Both are very sweet and are wonderful at their jobs. This one receptionist who appears Dominican, takes issues personally. I do not like her. My mother and I arrived 30 minutes prior to my appointment time and didn't expect to not wait. But, she didn't notify the doctor until 15 minutes after my appointment time. Clearly, she is not good at multitasking or just mixes her personal feelings into her work. This isn't very professional. Did not have major issues until I had to bring in a prescription to my pharmacy. Pharmacy said my doctor would have to rewrite the prescription with the name brand. I called and spoke to the same Dominican receptionist and she sent me to Joanne's voicemail. Called again, spoke to another receptionist and she got me directly to Joanne. She said she would check on it and reach back to me personally after she spoke with the pharmacist. I waited in the CVS parking lot for 30 minutes before I decided to go thru the drive-thru once again. At this point, I'm an hour and a half late for work. They were aware of this. Pharmacist said they didn't receive a single call. Not only could she not follow through with me, she didn't make an attempt. At this point, I'm very angry. Called Joanne and got the rude receptionist again who kept insisting that she can't get through to Joanne. If that were the case, why did the other kind receptionist do that? She takes things on a personal level. I left Joanne 3 voicemails and couldn't even get a single call back. This was such an inconvenience and resulted in me missing my work day. Joanne and the receptionist seem very apathetic. I have no problem with anyone. Those two just seem like they do not care. At this point, it's 5 hours post my appointment that morning. I came into the office, the rude receptionist was in the background talking about how someone called and kept insisting she speak to Joanne (she was referring to my call I placed earlier). This is very unprofessional. She realized it was me and couldn't look me in the face. Another thing, I got the prescription. Joanne gave it to another nurse who handed it to me. That is the most unprofessional thing I have witnessed. I've had better experiences dealing with Walmart customer service that was delivered in a timely manner. This is just unacceptable for a small office like TPFC. Why couldn't Joanne hand me the prescription herself? In situations similar to these, they person usually knows they are in the wrong. As soon as I can find another office that does medication management, I am out of here. I am highly disappointed."
