"With my first pregnancy, my experience with WakeMed had been wonderful every step of the way. Now with my second pregnancy, my experiences with them, especially this location, have been nothing short of awful; and it's only been about a year and a half between pregnancies, so I'm not sure how WakeMed went downhill so quickly. They've been horribly late with all of my appointments, with the latest and worst one causing me to look towards transferring to a different doctor's office/system all together. I arrived 15 minutes early to my appointment and already completed my e-check in, as they requested. Unfortunately no one could watch my toddler as the time so she was with me for this appointment. We sat in the waiting room for an hour and 45 minutes, with at least 9 other patients having walked in and been seen before us in that time. Because of complications with this second pregnancy, I was hoping to stay and be seen to ensure everything with the baby was still going alright. I kept asking one of the secretaires what was going on, and she kept ensuring me that "it shouldn't be long now until they call you back." I don't think she even realized how long we had been waiting. To the other secretary's credit (I feel bad I didn't catch her name, but she's the very nice, soft spoken lady), she did notice and gave us snacks and water, apologized profusely, and even happily talked with my daughter a little bit, as she was getting grumpy for having waited there for so long at that point. I was getting fed up and was about to just reschedule and leave when we were finally called back. As it turned out, WakeMed has absorbed so many new patients recently that the system administration and rotating doctors keep switching the staff's schedules at the last second. So my ultrasound technician didn't even know she was supposed to have a patient, and had just sat in her room for a bit then went to lunch; and no one had bothered to figure out if she was truly meant to have a patient or not. Upon doing my ultrasound, she didn't turn the TV on, so I couldn't see anything, and the whole ultrasound lasted about 5 minutes; only for us to be shuffled in to the waiting room for 10 more minutes, then called into a private doctor's room for 30 more minutes to wait for the doctor to come in and discuss the ultrasound. I was rather frustrated at this point with how much time had been wasted. The doctor finally came in, didn't ask how we were doing or if I had any pertinent questions, just simply said, "everything looks great but we'll schedule you in a couple weeks to check in again," then he left. That whole interaction was less than 2 minutes long. I've worked in healthcare for several years, in office and hospital settings; I understand when things get a little behind or there's mishaps, or people have rough days. However, the amount of time we had to spend waiting to then receive such terrible care, if you can even call it "care," was horrendous. Even at the other WakeMed locations recently I've received horrible bedside manners from a couple other physicians; with them spending less than 5 minutes on my visit, not checking if I have questions or concerns, dismissing me when I can get a word in, not doing what they should be doing (like measuring my bump or discussing bloodwork with me, etc), and not even bothering to knock on the door and say hello. It makes me want to ask them, when you were in medical school is that truly the quality of care you imagined yourselves giving one day? Because it does not instill trust or confidence in me that you're an effective provider who even remotely cares about your patients. Save your time and sanity by finding a better OB/GYN doctor's office altogether."
"Dr.Rimawi is by far the BEST Doctor i have met at this practice , i like how he explains findings ,shows care and compassion may God bless him. Now ,i met a different Doctor on my next appointment and it was a disaster!! He shows no compassion and explains findings like its nothing!! (He made me feel like just a number seeking free services NOO!!! I pay for my services at Wakemed!! For his information) I have been to wakemed and have never been seen by him, next time he has to see me i will cancel my appointment. Left me feeling sad."
"Dr. Rimawi is by far the best doctor I have EVER had at wakemed so far!! He truly cares about his patients and he has provided the best care so far during this pregnancy! I highly recommend going to him. A+++ care!!"
"I really thought they cared more after they found heart defect in my last pregnancy maybe staff has changed after a miscommunication I'm now in a new pregnancy without having a ultrasound yet and I'm beyond 6months. This is stressful and I feel they dont see my concern."
"Dr. Muhammad was the best! I appreciate all the care you provided during the pregnancy and even after my loss. I appreciate you. Thank you for your service. Hope to see you again next time :)"
