"I came here in hopes to treat my complicated uti infection. The front desk staff and the nurses are amazing no complaints there. However Dr. Chawla was the provider I seen and really disappointed with the care I received from him. I’ve had a resistant infection such as E. coli for the past three weeks now and it has not been treated. The pain from this infection is horrible and been trying to get him to give me something that will actually work but he refused and neglected the pain I was in and did not care to help. He just kept the focus on the infection and did not care to help me with my symptoms. I had to wait three days on top of the three weeks I’ve been battling this infection for the results of the urine to come back in just to have to call them to get a response about my results and to get them to give me an antibiotic. They never called me during that waiting period for the urine results to see if I was okay or needed anything. When I brought up treating my pain with something a bit more stronger after calling and reaching out to Dr. Chawla. He advised me to just go to the hospital instead of treating me and providing me a prescription. The hospital told me to see a urologist for my condition and was sent to see Dr. Chawla (urologist) just for him to refuse to help me and send me to the back to the hospital this is a joke! All because I’m in pain and he did not care to help he brushed me off and neglected my care. I’m really heart broken about this because I told him how hopeful I was with seeing him and how burnt out I was with this infection and the pain I’ve been in! The sad part to this is when I had high hopes he was gonna help me but completely let me down. I would not recommend him if you have a life threatening uti infection. He will let you suffer in pain and throw you to the curb because he’s one of those doctors that doesn’t believe in pain medication and wants you to tough it out. This is sickening especially for someone who’s experiencing a bad infection that’s really painful. Dr. Chawla I hope you are different towards the next patient that comes in with a condition like mine and actually care about them and do better by helping them."

Was very professional and has the best bed side manner. He was not one to jump into surgery, he let me decide after I got tired of my pain. If I could give him and his staff 100 stars I would. "So I started feeling acute flank pain on Friday , August 26, 2022 which I knew from experience was a kidney stone. I thought I could pass it, but the pain increased in intensity to the point that after 2 days I knew I needed to go to the emergency room. I went to Wake Med north emergency department (despite the pain, a very good experience) and spent all of Sunday evening there receiving 2 separate IV doses of morphine to control the pain. I was released around 1 AM Monday with a promise that Wake Med urology would call me Monday morning to set up an appointment to be seen by a urologist. I asked what was the earliest time I could call if I haven’t heard from them (I was still in acute pain: 10/10 once the OxyContin wore off). They said to give them until 8 AM before you call. I couldn’t have been more thankful for Kristy who called me at 7:20 AM Monday morning to set an appointment!! She told me that especially on Monday mornings (i.e. after the weekend) she gets to her office early to prioritize the calls. She reviewed my records from the emergency department and quickly realized I needed an appointment ASAP which she was able to set up for 8:40 AM that morning! Now that is exceptional caring and medical professionalism. I was promptly seen by Dr. Chawla’s RN Amy. I received an injection of tramadol which greatly reduced the pain within 5 to 10 minutes. Dr. Chawla rearranged his surgical schedule so I could be seen the next day!! That is absolutely amazing and I am so very thankful. I’ve also needed to call with several questions and I received timely return calls especially from Laura who also works with Dr. Chawla. So as you can probably guess I could not be more pleased with my experience with this office, Dr. Chawla, and his staff. Ironically just like my pain level when it maxes out, I would rate this office and staff a 10 out of 10!!!"
