"Make sure they address the reason you are seeing them before you leave.I went in yesterday with severe sinus pain, headache and laryngitis. As standard procedure, rapid Covid&Flu tests were performed- Both negative. The PA, concerned my symptoms may still be Covid, orders a PCR. That test was negative. Great. The problem is that my original issues were never addressed. The PA was so hyper-focused on the possibility of Covid that she didn’t address my actual concerns. I asked the MA what would be done if the PCR was negative regarding treatment and she told me that any medications would be called into my pharmacy. My notes say I agreed to treat OTC, which was never discussed. I contacted the office today asking what I am supposed to do about the apparent sinus and other symptoms. I was told that the PA I saw was not there and the other providers could not treat me unless I come back in or see my primary care provider. I understand that. However, I was also told by the staff member that is unlikely that I have a sinus infection because I hadn’t had my symptoms long enough. I explained that this was not my first sinus infection and knew the symptoms. I was told there wasn’t anything they could do. At the end of the call I was told “Good Luck”. So at the end of the day, I’m still experiencing severe sinus pain that is hurting my eye, can’t talk and now have to seek treatment elsewhere."
"My experience from the moment I walked through the door to the moment I left was the best I have ever had at any Emergency department. I never once waited in waiting room. I was in and out in about 3 hours and the last 30 minutes was waiting for my IV fluids to finish. I had xray, blood draw, ultrasound, and saw doctor and results all within 2 1/2 hours on a Saturday. I was very impressed with the whole process and my care."
"I had the best experience at WakeMed in Garner! I was bummed to find out my insurance was out of network but decided it was the best place to be and was willing to pay out of pocket. When they realized I was going to need an ultrasound, they sent me to the ER and refunded me the money I paid for the visit that day! They didn't just give me some random advice and send me on my way, they listened, they were patient, and they actually cared. Huge shoutout to Kayla Sesser and Shawn for such a pleasant experience!"
"Came in unable to breathe. I was provided swift care. Treated like a friend in need. I felt totally safe and cared for by a team of devoted people. After this experience I'm really rethinking my previous distrust of the medical establishment. They are far from me but if something goes wrong again I'll be making the drive."
"Just want to give a big THANK YOU! to the front desk staff for all their patience helping me work through my recent weekend visit to this location. It required multiple trips (entirely my fault, not theirs) and on my first "comeback" they took my paperwork immediately back to the doctor to review which saved me a very long wait time just to be told I was missing a vital piece. Their patience, consideration & proactiveness made an already stressful situation manageable. Third time was a charm! My experience involved two separate shifts (both front desk & medical staff) and every interaction was very professional & helpful."
