About the Duke Eye Center of Cary
The Duke Eye Center of Cary, located at 2000 Regency Parkway in Cary, North Carolina, is a health institution dedicated to providing consultations, evaluations, and exams for a variety of eye conditions such as cataracts, corneal disease, glaucoma, and retinal diseases. If surgery is necessary, procedures are performed at the Duke Eye Center in Durham, the Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center, or Duke Raleigh Hospital Eye Surgery Center.
Patients at Duke Eye Center of Cary can expect thorough consultations, diagnoses, and treatments for adult eye conditions. Appointments typically last one to three hours, with all necessary tests scheduled during one visit to minimize multiple trips. New patients are encouraged to have their medical records sent in advance, and should bring a list of current medications, insurance information, and payment for any out-of-pocket costs.
During appointments, patients will meet with certified eye care professionals who will assist the eye doctor with exams, which may include comprehensive eye exams, special testing, and imaging. After the exam, the eye doctor will discuss test results and develop a treatment plan tailored to the patient's specific needs.
The institution offers equal access for all individuals, with free interpreter services available for patients who prefer communication in a language other than English. Patients can plan their visit using GoCary bus route 5, with the closest bus stops being Crescent Commons Dr at Crescent Green and Tryon Rd at Kildaire Farm Rd. For those with accessibility issues, GoWake Access provides an accessible transit program for eligible individuals in Wake County.
Before visiting the Duke Eye Center of Cary, it is recommended to review the visitor guidelines to ensure the safety of all patients and staff. For any questions or appointment cancellations, patients can contact the clinic directly at 919-681-3937.

Reviews of Duke Eye Center of Cary
"The doctors and staff here provide outstanding care and treatment. Drs Asrani and Boehlke are experts in their respective fields and may be the very best in the triangle area."
"This place is awful. The front desk lady was very nice and empathetic. That was literally the only good thing about the visit. Every member of the staff that I interacted with (besides front desk) was condescending and dismissive. I understand that they were busy, but I was left alone for over half an hour in an exam room with no explanation. Dr Borkar told me that you should always expect to be there between 2-3 hours. The exam was quite painful as well. If you're referred here for a retinal specialist, I recommend looking elsewhere."
"I had my cataract surgery by Dr. Boehlke . It was wonderful! No glasses anymore. Several years later now had to get a check-up. Still 20-20 vision. Great follow-up! The office staff are wonderful, each and every one of them. Highly recommend this group!"
"I was not happy with the kind of customer service I received from one of the employees at the front. After asking her about whether or not my relative checked in and was in the middle of the consultation, the employee asked whether or not I was the "interpreter". It wouldn't have been a big deal had my relative not spoken a word of English, however my relative is fluent in English but has an accent. The assumption was rather ignorant and once I made the remark that it was unprofessional the employee continued to talk about me and was justifying her actions so loud that another client overheard and told me about it in the middle of the parking lot AFTER I had left. Perhaps the ignorant and slightly racist assumption made on her part was an accident however, discussing clients in front of other clients is the epitome of unprofessionalism. Edit: 1/17/2023 I have had multiple negative experiences with Duke Eye Care - Cary. Today (Tuesday at 8:30) I contacted the office to schedule an emergency check up for a relative who has been experiencing eye problems. I was told that I would be scheduled for the following day, Wednesday at 8:30am at the holly springs location. I was later told by my relative that the appointment was in fact scheduled for today- Tuesday at 8:30 - the exact time I was on the phone with the receptionist. My relative contacted the office once she received an email about her missing her appointment- the one that was supposed to be for Wednesday. She tried to get a different time scheduled but was told that it would be preferred for her to go to her optometrist to get a referral so that her OWN DOCTOR - ophthalmologist would be able to see her. She has been visiting the Duke Eye Center in Cary for over a year. She should not be required to obtain a referral from a completely different medical professional from a completely different medical institution for her own doctor to be able to see her- she is NOT a new patient. we will not be returning."
"Been going to Dr. Walsh for over 5 years. YES, you will spend upwards of 2 hours at this office but she is great at what she does and in very high demand. I live in Cary and I'm just happy I don't have to drive into Raleigh and fight traffic to see her. Some reviews will tell you they don't take their time with you or answer your questions. I have never found that to be the case. I was just in the office today and felt that everyone, (front desk staff to the doctors) were caring, respectful of my time and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Dr. Walsh and Duke Eye Center of Cary."
