WakeMed Primary Care - Brier Creek

"I used to love my doctor here. Unfortunately, my last experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not return. I went for my annual physical, which is covered 100% by insurance. At the end of my appointment, I mentioned that I had been experiencing some anxiety postpartum, and simply asked for a referral to therapy. We chatted about it for maybe 2 minutes. A few weeks later, I got a bill for over $160. I was shocked and confused. I called wakemed to discuss and they told me it was not billed as my annual physical, which would have been covered 100% under insurance, but rather, it was billed as an office visit from a short conversation at the end of the visit. She made no mention of this in the visit, and I had no clue this would be the case. And then the referral was for wakemed a virtual therapy, which turned out to be incredibly expensive and I did not even move forward with it, but that’s a conversation for another day."

"Ashley Welch PA is so compassionate, gentle and caring. I’m new to the area and just so happened to meet Ashley during a hospital follow up visit. Her bedside manner is exceptional and you can tell she genuinely cares for her patients. She is also an excellent patient advocate, I will be sticking with Ashley as long as I can. Yes, Ashley is a PA but that does not change the fact that she’s an excellent/knowledgeable provider. Wakemed system as whole: To be completely honest, I don’t like the WakeMed system because it’s so congested and you can get lost in translation if you do not stick up for yourself. I only continue to go to the PCP because of all of the staff in this specific office. I’ve also seen doctor Won, who is also very pleasant."

"Love the doctors at this practice! I've been going for 5 years and I've always been very pleased with the level of service I've received from Dr. Chenna! She is especially awesome. I had a very uncomfortable experience with a receptionist this morning, however, that makes me feel compelled to leave feedback. I was calling to schedule my yearly physical and I spoke with Francine. I suggested scheduling earlier than usual this year because I'm concerned about coming to a healthcare facility during what the CDC is predicting will be the COVID upswing. Francine gave me some pushback and when I assured her that I wanted to schedule early and that the particulars of my insurance would present no problems, she said "Well, I will write that down in case you get charged and call our manager to say something different." I thought that was just a really ugly thing to say. I have never called to dispute a bill and I resent the accusation that I would. I think a "Let me make a note of that in your chart" would have sufficed. Very disappointed with this experience :("

"I have been going to this office for a few years, even before they moved to this location. Dr. Erickson is a phenomenal doctor. She is a holistic care provider who takes her time and really listens to your needs as a patient. I also see Dr. Holley as well. Dr Holley is very thorough, and knowledgeable. He has a pleasant personality and is very professional. I have read the other reviews here and felt the need to share my positive experiences. I have also have very positive interactions with the office staff. I am very pleased with my experiences here."
